EUROPE | HSL-trains from Europe

I think its nice to compare all the Europe's HSL trains that drive. It would be nice if somebody had a map of all the existing HSL-lines of europe, Than we could see where all these trains drive.

Here are the ones that drive true Belgium:

- Thalys(Belgian, Dutch, French, Deutch)

Paris North – Brussels-South – Antwerp Central – Rotterdam Central – Den Haag HS – Schiphol – Amsterdam Central

Paris North – Brussels-South – Ličge-Guillemins – Aachen

PBKA train-sets:

PBA train-sets:

- Eurostar(English)

London Waterloo - Ashford International - Calais-Fréthun - Lille - Brussels South

TMST train-sets:

- ICE (Deutch)

Brussel – Keulen – Frankfurt

ICE3

Via Ličge, Luik or Lüttich, lovely Maastricht is now directly connected to Brussel or Bruxelles.

Yeah, those ICE trains look pretty sleek. The TGV Duplexes are cool too.

And you forgot to put London Waterloo - Paris Gare du Nord for Eurostar.

Once CTRL2 (UK) and HST3 (Belgium) are completed, will London-Cologne in three hours be feasible?

For the moment it will take 4:31 without stopping-time in Brussels. With the CTRL2 it will be 4:06 (2007). I don't really know how much quicker it will be when the HST3 is finished and the line between Brussels and Leuven is modernized. But I think 3 hours is a little bit to fast.

Then, it is not so fast...

Examples:
BCN-Madrid: 670 km. in 3h55min (2007), 2h30min (2008).
Madrid-Seville: 471 km. in 2h15min (2006).

I didn't say that it's so fast. But there is still about 160 kilometres of railroad to be modernized.

I wouldn´t really call London <-> Colonge a high speed track at the moment. Between London and the channel tunnel the high speed track is under construction at the moment. And also between Liege and Cologne there is no high speed track at the moment. Especially between Liege and Aachen you feel like driving in a dawdle-train.

True, At the moment they are building HST3 in Belgium. This contains the renewing of the tracks between Liege and Aachen and building a new 6km tunnel. The works will be finished in a couple of months. Does anbody know if they are also going to rebuilt the track between Aachen and Colonge?
