I don't find it so "horrible", imo the spanish duck is uglier

And how dyou find this? I'm not a big fan of the duplex design but i really love this livery !!

Taken on the eastern line today, with a new test run at 568,1 kph

I like that livery too actually, a lot, but I think they should have changed also both the front and the end. It looks a little bit strange, as if the livery has been cutted on those ends...
By the way, I like the Spanish "duck" with its new Renfe livery. For those who do not know why it does have that shape, it is in order to reduce the noise produced by the train at high speeds. It tops in commercial service 330Km/h.
But the best-looking train I think right now is the Siemens ICE 3 and its evolution, Velaro (AVE S103). On Renfe livery its amazing!.

The AVE S103 (Siemens Velaro) in double composition and some "Patos" in the new camp de tarragona station, in the HST Mad-Bcn.

Much better

But I thought these trains were only for the Brussels-Amsterdam route?

That picture has it sitting in Paris le Gare de Nord.

Taste is however relative and the train is relatively disgusting.
The Pendolino's are very nice, the voyagers are not so asthetically pleasing. But both trains are very well designed technically and do their jobs well. The interiors I'm afraid look a bit cheap.

Great shots- I am glad that the EU is advocating for continent wide HSR network. It would be great to travel from Lisbon to London or Berlin on HSR one day.

I suppose in a couple of years we will be seeing TGV in Spain and AVE in France!!

Sortof, Hoosier. My guess would be that you'll be seeing AGV in Spain in a few years' time. They'll have the new train ready just in time for the liberalisation of third party access in 2011. The AGVs (with their smaller, distributed motors) are lighter than the conventional TGVs and hence much more suitable for the stretch from Avignon to Barcelona, a part of which consists of traditional and not very good track.

I'm love with the ICE.

I remember seeing an ICE in Amsterdam Centraal a few years ago, but I didn't take a picture of it
