Power Blackout

This afternoon the power went out at pavilion. Was having a meal with my friend at pastamania and the whole mall went dark. They don't have back up power. Good thing the mall got skylight.

Wonder whether he power is back on? The poeple walking in with blank looks on their faces.

Imagine the power went out yesterday during the opening ceremony.

The mall management don't want people to hang around and lepaklah. They want people to shop that's why no water features.

I wish they had some dancing fountain too or waterfall. Sunway pyramid going to have a new water feature, so can go check that out.

I'll be there for 5 days from 29 Oct and will be staying at the Westin opposite the Pavilion and i just can't wait.

I would also say that some of the comments from some KL forummers are really surprising to me - you now have one the best ranges of shopping faciilties in the world IMO and yet people keep criticising and comparing it to say SGP. Well Vivocity is crap compared to this imo.

I live in Sydney and come from UK and believe me, there are no malls in either the UK or Australia that compare to the likes of Pavilion and the Bukit Bintang stretch, so please stop complaining!!
What about bluewater and bullring in Birmingham, Westfield Bondi Junction and Chadstone? Are they worth visiting? Suria KLCC ceo used to work for westfield.

Which are the best malls to visit for tourists to Sydney?

Definitely the best mall is Westfield Bondi Junction: http://www.westfield.com/bondijunction/ourstores/
Its a couple of years old now and is still the best of Westfield's malls in Oz imo. I like it not only 'cos its local to me, but Borders stays open til 11pm.
Remember shops in UK & Oz all shut at 5 or 6pm except for one night a week -another reason why shopping is so good in SE Asia. I can makan and then go out til 10pm!

Pavilion KL sasar jualan RM1.5b
Oleh Amran Ahmad

KUALA LUMPUR 20 Sept.

Pengerusi Urusharta Cemerlang Sdn.

I'm originally from Birmingham and will be visiting the BullRing cnetre in 2 weeks' time Its good but nothing like MidValley or Pavilion or BTS. The only good part is the great Selfrdiges store there.

Thanks for the info. Why do the malls in UK & Oz close so early? Plus here we have midnite shopping during megasale and Christmas. Always enjoyed visiting westield malls. Read that the Times bookstore at pavilion will open till midnite.

That's bad. Gary it's great that you love the malls in KL. It's amazing how we KLites love comparing our malls with those overseas and the tourists do the reverse and love shopping here. At least the malls now are always raising the bar and setting new standards for others to follow.

[QUOTE=lvfreak;15471494]the Aseana walkway is very limited.plus, the brand that's around there is kinda boring. i was talking about the whole floor. hermes, chanel, LV, Gucci etc all at the centre and at the very entrance. but afterall, thats just my one cents.

Agreed. And they have a porte cochere and private drop off area.

so the Godiva will happen? yeay!! i went thru the shopping directory and the name is not there. thats where i get to my conclusion~ (i guess theyll print a new directory early next yr. =))

I think the shopping directory only list stores that are open and about to open. You notice how some hoardings throughout the mall have the pavilion red logo instead of the store name, I think those lots have not been leased, around 7%.

I saw Puma printed in the directory but couldn't find the store, I think the hoarding is all painted white. Karen Millen is opening too, but is not listed also. I guess there will be more surprises and new stores to come, hopefully aveda, river island, swarovski and bottega veneta.

Nice looking place! Reminds me of Union Square and Westfield Mall in San Fran. Tall ceilings and natural light certainly make a place look so much more upscale. I do agree that it would be nice to have more WOW type displays....etc for such a mall in the Golden Triangle. Having said that, wouldn't it be marvelous if the whole BB area were cordoned off permanently and made into a pedestrian mall?

How I miss westfield san fran with the glorious dome and bloomingdales, the food emporium and union square. If only parkson pavilion is as upscale as bloomies since both were designed by the same firm.

Great idea to cordon off BB permanently for street festivals and parties but the traffic mess has to be diverted somewhere.
