Frankfurt - Germany

Frankfurt at river "main" is located in the middle of Germany,in the province of "hessen".The city population is about 600.000,but about half a million people travel there to work every day. Since 2009,the beginning of this thread, there have been built several towers, like Opera-tower(168m),Palais-Quartier(130m),Tower 185 (200m)and now being built (Taunusturm(170m),new european central bank(185m),Maintor-Winx(110m) and soon Skyline Plaza Towers(212m+113m).I live only 100kilometres away from Frankfurt. Next to the City is the second largest airport in europe located.A new Terminal 3 is being built this year(2012).

So here are my pics:

skyline seen from pedestrian precinct

skyper (right) and silver tower on the left

Great shots! I've visited Frankfurt a few times because of my family and I speak fluent german so I really enjoy Frankfurt.

Is the second image from the Kaufhause? And how did you get too an observation tower?

All I did while in Frankfurt was take the U-Bahn around and walk across the Rhine.

There is no Rhine in Frankfurt. You mean probably the river Main. That's why the city is called "Frankfurt am Main".

Love the altstadt area, half-timbered for the win (even if they are rebuilt).

It's funny. Frankfurt, even with all those skyscrapers, doesn't feel like a big city. I'd like to visit it someday, it's one of the few bigger cities in Germany I haven't visited.

Pics are great though, FFM pics are quite rare over here!

yes you're wright. it isn't that big. about 600.000 inhabitants.the center with the towers is quite small. you can cross it in 15minutes

On the left is the construction site of the new tower 185(200m).

Entrance of Messeturm (257m)

The recently completed shopping mall "my zeil" in the pedestrian precinct

The interior

A few weeks ago we even had snow, and since 2nd of April temperatures were continously 20-26 degrees. Spring has arrived, Frankfurt looked like this on easter monday:
