lol yeah but you said answer as much as you bother. Just kidding. I know time is of the issue because soon you will be here so give me a minute to look over your post and come up with some good ideas for you. I'm sure I will get it done some time over the weekend.

Hi! That's my first message here. I am Spaniard (from Zaragoza
) and this Chistmast I will be visiting NYC with 3 friends more.We will arrive at JFK Airport, but first we have to travel to Rhode Island to visit a friend. We have to take an Amtrak train in Penn Station. What is the best way to go? what about time routes and prices? Remember that we will be 4 people with suitcases. Thanks in ahead!

Pride week is the 20th - 28th of June. The parade usually is on Sunday. The parade with all the balloons is the Thanksgiving day parade but that is in November. Bed Stuy locations? Fulton Street...I like Halsey...Bedford Avenue leads to a neat little square @ a Y intersection but I think you may be hanging on the border with the neighborhood known as Prospect Heights. Nearby or not too far, rather is the actual park; Prospect. W.A.L.D.O is the area between Exchange Place and Newport in Jersey City and is fairly gritty but trying hard to round out it's edges. (Second, First, Bay and Morgan streets) to be more specific. Great views from any location along the Hudson river-Jersey side. Nothing specific in Queensbridge, LIC...hunters point is kind of dinky but its still a neat little neighborhood and I'd say that is a satelitte community of LIC as much as Queensbridge is. Queensbridge is indeed a very large area and I wouldn't suggest walking all of it but going there mid day in good weather will allow you to get the gritty shots you desire. You can probably still walk up to and take photos around the 5 pointz but not put any new graffitti up? I don't know I have not been over there in over a year.

Thanks again! I've written 4 pages now with small tips and sights, so I'm sure we will get a great trip.
(Although I can't say 28 degrees(or mid 80's you might say in your weird way of measuring) and bright sun is a good trade for 20 degrees and rain in NYC )Our airport bus leaves in little more than an hour, better finish my suitcase..

Hallo guys,
I will be in NY from 8 July till 14 July, and I was wondering if I could visit some sport games of typical American sports. I know the NBA & NHL season is over. But what about the rest? I think the New York Mets plays at home when I am at NY. But is it easy to get tickets of the home games? Greeting & thanks in advance, witn

Hi -
I'm in the city next week and was wondering if any of the skyscrapers like AIG (Cities Service), Farmer's Trust, Bank of Manhattan (40 Wall Street), Woolworth buildings, - have TOURS where someone leads you up and down the building or at least you can go to the top? If anyone has info on tours in adjacent buildings, that's great, too. I've looked a few up on the net and these buildings don't seem to have official sites of their own. Or can you go to the top of these buildings anyway on your own? Maybe it's taboo post-9/11. Thanks for info. Jonsky |

Hi,
I'm visiting soon for 4 days, and am staying in Queens. Is it safe for me (as a blatant tourist) to use the underground metro? Is Queens safe? Is it safe to walk around at night in Queens and in the centre of New York city? Also, can anybody recommend a walking/tube tour? I want to see the Citicorp tower, Seagram building, and other more famous scrapers in particular. Thanks |

A friend and I are flying to JFK for our New York City trip. Quick question: What's the best way to get from JFK to our hotel in Manhattan (Radisson Lexington at the corner of Lexington and 48th (or is it 48th and Lexington?)? We were thinking about subway, but it sounds like a few transfers would be necessary. Is taxi the better option?

Well Evan, taxi is certainly the easiest option. There is a flat fare of $45 to Manhattan.
Or you can just take the Express Bus to Manhattan. Departs from every terminal and you only pay $15. Get out at Grand Central (42nd & Park Av) and walk up. Lex Av is the next Av to the East. If you have big luggage with you, I would not take the subway.

Bump!
I'm going to be in town from 4-8AUG and wouldn't mind a new wave of recommendations, particularly for restaurants that are 'must-eat', but not quite as touristy or commercialized as some of the previously mentioned ones in this thread Best, KingoftheHill P.S: If anybody's up for a shoot or a cup of coffee or something, shoot me a PM; here's some of my photo work: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/15316475@N04 |

Cool, thanks for the advice. Here's a quick list of things we wanted to do. Please let me know of anything you can think of that we should definitely add or if there's something on the list we can skip.
1. The Met 2. Ellis Island 3. Empire State Building 4. See a Braodway show (maybe - depending on the price) 5. Times Square 6. Chinatown 7. Ground Zero 8. St. Patrick's cathedral As for a must-visit restaurant, my sister recommended Confetti Pasta. Anyone else have a review of the joint? Thanks again. |

I like Pasquale's up on Arthur Avenue for authentic Italian cuisine and it has a greagt atmosphere being in the Bronx's Little Italy. I honestly think the place like others in the area are mafia related so every so often you may see a few dudes with too much hair gel in track suits around a big fat guy in a pin stripe suit sucking up spaghetti at the back table...don't stare and order the Pesto, Carbonera or Fettucine....mmmm
