1. When you visit NY I think it is very interesting to visit the construction sites!
Dutch skyscrapercity members have created a Google Maps overview on Urbika of many cities in the Netherlands. At each project there is a direct link to the skyscrapercity forum thread. Would be nice if some people could add more projects to NY or other cities in the United States?

2. haha. No, sorry I'm not.

There either on hold or going across the River into my state which is cheaper. But for now we are over shadowed by NYC , which i could understand in the past but Now its ridiculous. New Yorkers don't give us enough credit for there daily lives and other crap, and they tell tourists were dirty. sigh.......

LOL , oh i didn't see that , outside of NYC and even in NYC projects vary month to month so its hard to know exactly when or what the project will look like.

I am in NYC in 9 days and i want to buy a pair off Converse all stars, some Tigi hair products and useful presents for my relatives as presents. What shops can you recommend me? They can also be outside of Manhattan, butr not to far away, since this is my first trip to NYC.

The Newport Mall in Jersey City has a Nike Shop its next to a PATH station with direct access to NYC. Also its clothing , in my state theres no clothing tax, and in Jersey City its 3% sales tax. I shop there alot ,even over the stores near me. Also try neighboring Hoboken they have some great stores aswell again its a quick PATH Train over or Ferry. Alot of My New York friends shop in NJ.

Yes why not , your sales tax is 7% or higher and you have a clothing tax. We don't have that , and were a stone throw away form NYC , via PATH , Ferries or Car. I think your getting mad becuz i'm stealing ur business, i'm just trying to save him alot of money. And as a New York you should know that , most New Yorkers shop for expensive things in NJ.

It dropped us off in Times Square and picked us up there several hours later. (It was also very easy to drive from the hotel there to Liberty Park to take the ferry to Ellis/Liberty Island).

All in all we had a very good, and fairly inexpensive, two days in the NYC area.

The Hotel didn't tell you about the Light Rail nearby? It only costs 1.90$ and has 7 connections to NYC via water or PATH and stops at Liberty State park. I'm surprised they did, was it the hotel near 495 and 1/9?

This one?

That's the Metlife tower, used to be the world's tallest (I think it's the one that overtook Woolworth).

It's located on Madison square around 23rd street, you can't miss it, it's a beauty.

Isn't it amazing that the old Metlife tower is older than the building it was copied from : )

They must have released toxic gas around, hope you sealed your windows with duct tape

Who knows, 7th av. is a pretty long avenue, if you say you saw cable technicians, perhaps they need to work on some faulty line or something running underneath, weekends are a good time to dig around without too much traffic.

Hey I'm going to travel to New York aswell. We will be staying there for 4 days and than go on to Boston, D.C., Niagara Falls, Toronto, Chicago and some other things on the way and than fly to San Fransisco and than go around the west coast.

But I had a question about new york. Does anybody know the Downtree Chelsea hotel? Is it any good and good spot in the city? Or is this a bad question because there are probably thousands of hotels, so probably know one knoews it...

No i don't but since your going to Boston and DC , you should take Northeast Regional, a Train That runs from Boston-NYC-DC. And right now the fares are really low. Book 14 days in advance for the low fares, also keep in mind outside the Northeast Corridor & Keystone line trains are very slow.
