OMG its so HKish, which is good actually in a way China has uniform design of metro stations. Anyways the Nanjing main station is very nice and modern I was hoping China would built railway station of that character someday didnt know its almost done. As for the signage and the ticket machines thank god they have english on them! I was in Guangzhou last year and I had so much difficulty buying the tickets because they didn't have english on their machines they were just basically ping yins.

I hope Guangzhou will have English on the machines on the New Line 3 and 4 when it opens on December 28th of this year...

BTW what is the manufacture of the Nanjing subway trains?

I heard the trains were made by 中国南车集团南京浦镇车辆厂 in NanJing,
cooperated with French company Alstom.

There was an English option on those ticket vending machines and I clicked onto one and it worked fine.

Does it really matter that its looks and maybe built by mtr, because obviously the reason that mainland China cities have done the same style is that it's efficient and easy to use ,as you can see from HK.

Completely agree, i often hear people say that all the chinese city's subway just copys the hongkong mtr, and i say SO?? i mean why would you want to risk designing something new that might not work as good when you already have a ready made and proven successful subway system design.

Really ambitious architecture in some stations and some works of art.
