I already did it for you in the "How to speak Farsi" thread, but here you go again

your name is your name, where ever you go, lol. its not like in one place you are "George" than in another you are "Mike." Youre name is your name where ever you go. Your name in farsi script is :

رناتو

This is in standard calligraphy though. there are much more beautiful Persian calligraphy such as "nast'aliq" and "shekasteh" scripts.

Examples of Persian calligraphy:

I'm not bragging My family had the name 'Seyyed' when they moved into Iran from Turkey after my distant relative failed an attempted coup...

Who knows if Seyyed's are still the real deal.....still proud of it though...why not!

Girl names.

What are peoples's thoughts of Arnavaz for a girl's name? Is this a Zoroastrian name by any chance?

there is no real thing as a "zoroastrian" name, zoroastrianism isnt a language, some words might be more common among them but they use the same names as we do
ive never heard of arnavaz though, its probably one of these newly composed names

It is one of the oldest Iranians names used for girls, and a name used in Shah-name too, it dates back to the time of Jamshid, so yes you can say it is Zorastrian.

arnavaz in shah name?? interesting

and jamshid is PRE zoroastrian, noruz is PRE zoroastrian, stop tieing every damn thing to zoroastrianism guys, not only does this show the lack of knowledge regarding our own culture but also it is in a way disregarding/down grading of irans culture, all these concepts are secular

Now I am marrying a local we were discussing (Universal name) So far we came up Zakaria, Rose my brother in NZ just named his daughter Lilly, so I would be interested to see what names would be seen as not weird in cultures outside of Iran, if that makes sense.

Proud to be in bloodline with a man with that kind of history? Wow. Thats new to me. Over my dead body that I will ever give a Arabic (religious) name to my children.

seyyeds dont even have any real record if they are related to the prophets family
i mean what are the chances? i know many people that have gained the name seyyed when they arent, most seyyeds arent even realy related, its just a name like "sir" that i think at one point was used more as a respect prefix,
funny thing is i have hardly seen any arabs with seyyeds in front of their names

Nah I wouldnt want my kids to have (Persian) names, because they are too linked to Iranian history and people would automatically know they have some Persian roots, I want people to feel lost at looking at my kids, "what are they arabs, turks, jews" Something so bland, so lost in history it has no fixed abode.

I should add that my other half mentioned Baran is a beautiful name, I said if I called my child "Rain" then I would be worried for their mental health if they lived in northern europe. I said "Why don't people call there kids names like Karaj?" To which she fell over backwards laughing at me.

Aha, so you want to make you're children like some 'interesting thing'? Ridiculous.

Also if you read my orignal statement I want something international but none geolocated, so how could that be "Intersting thing". By calling my kid Darius which is actually very cliched in this day and age or Cyrus, ah please give me a break I dont buy into ancient Iranian mumbo jumbo.
