Commieblocks | Панелки

I took the idea from here.
If we get enough interest to this thread I think we must open a new one in the European section too.So let's post some pics of Bulgarian commieblocks.

П.С. Локуме,не знам как трябва да бъде заглавието на български-може би "панелки", така че ако знаеш сложи заглавие на български на темата.

София, кв. Хаджи Димитър / Sofia, Hadzi Dimitar neighbourhood

Especially zone B-5 - it's some kind of a communist anti-utopia...

I found the Zone somehow cool on its own way ,not pretty but cool - it's like a city on its own

It resembles in a way some residential projects in England, I even remember a Wesley Snipes movie shot there

I dunno but i think on that picture

it looks like quite a normal hood, imo better than Manastirski livadi which is all new residential buildings. + it got some "extras" like infrastructure.
All the new hoods are just a construction mess, kitschy, and built with no bigger idea or view of the area and with very poor projection works.
And i think these commieblocks are quite interesting and with little refurbishment will look good.

Yeah but the difficult part is when it comes to building new ones.

Btw if we finally accept some normal energy saving and reconstruction program like in Poland or CZ. The result for the local cities will be really huge.
An example from Ostrava, cz:

before :

quite familiar ah?

and after...

btw these are from a huge commieblock thread for CE http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=442527 , you can see some really nasty sites there (just like here) but in most of the cases they managed to 'repair' this buildings and the result is quite visible.

I know some good practice from Praha. A company renovates whole blocks for free in exchage for the right to built an additional 1 or 2 floors with new flats(which they sell or rent later) above the existing commie.
