Spanish is TnT's second language and is taught in schools - similar to how French is taught in Canada. I am not sure how many Trinis speak Spanish, but the history/influence is there to some extent although TnT is a former British colony.

I haven't heard about any plans for Caribbean Airlines to add there as a destination. Plus they would use their B738 for such a distance.

I wonder the ATR72-600 wouldn't be able to fly on this route.

It probably could, but it would not be economical, the 737-800 would be best but there needs to be enough passengers to fill its 154 seats. A Brazilian airline would more likely fly that route because they would more likely be able to fill the seats. But one can currently fly between Belem and Trinidad via Paramaribo with Suriname Airlines.

North Aviation Business Park

I came across this project called "North Aviation Business Park" on the Airports Authority website. Its suppose to be a complex with hotel, food, entertainment, retail, commercial and office space, which is to be constructed opposite Piarco Int'l Airport. I hope it gets built it would really liven up the area around the airport

I like the initiative but that area would have be good for a second runway. There is already an ongoing project of that nature in Wallerfield but because it was start under another administration it is being starved and this one is being propelled.

I was thinking the same thing, they were suppose to have a second runway a long time ago but it never got started.
