Well minus the attitude I'm guessing it's scaffolding and an elevator because I didn't know either.

As for the building: 9.5/10

I love the way this building looks. The green glass and the irregular shape make it look totally unique. Which I believe is essential IMO in a WTB. It's a love it or hate it tower and I love it. I give praise to all the architects out there who want to build something that makes our cities look better than ever.

personally, i love the building's architecture, but i feel uncomfortable with the thought of taiwan holding the wtb title. as for the roof and the spire, it looks like the architect have trouble figuring out how to best adorn the top, and the top looks rather tacky...

7/10

I don't like it too much, it looks like gigantic accordion But is impressive because of its height. I give 7.5/10

It's height is it's only saving grace. It looks like a characature(sp).

The architect borrowed from the way airport control towers are often designed, thus making each section wider at the top than at the bottom. The slight angle enables people inside looking out to see the city.
This one design-aspect hadn't been mentioned on these forums yet (if I'm not mistaken).

I'm not a great fan of this building, give me the petronas anyday!

It's to rigid in design, far to cubic for my taste!

7/10

does that stepped design make it look shorter than it actually is or is it just me?!?

8,5, I'm not a fan of the design of the building but it's impressive.

I saw it last month visiting Taipei. Its a pretty cool design but looks a bit stupid jutting out all by itself. They really need to build some taller buildings around it.

HA -- I agree, it is blah -- it is trying too hard, like Bank of Manhattan did in the 1920s in NYC -- they were preoccupied with WTB that they forgot everything else...what is with that spire...sheesh, the ugliest crown of any WTB ever, even the WTC had a better top and that was a box ;-)
