I never see anything special about Chicago's skyline. NYC looks much better, larger and impresive.

NYC's skyline looks amazing.

New York sure is better, but these photos of Chicago doesn't do justice for her skyline.

How are those photos not proper? I'm pretty sure that those photographs are Chicago. Maybe it's the side of Chicago you don't want to see? Notice that NYC photographs weren't the typical NYC photograph angles you usually see on photos either.

I like Chicago's skyline but I think NYC's skyline is more impressive and more asthetically pleasing/simulating.

The first photo is old around '03 and the others only show a small portion of the skyline and cut off at weird angles.

All of the NYC photos I posted do not show the entire Manhattan skyline either either and are cut off.

You know what? I am like a nanny because some of you are a bit too immature for the discussions on this website. I did not skip conveniently over any posts I see you as the instigator and that is all that matters to me. Chicago, performing terribly on this poll makes it no less grandiose, charming, monolithic, influential, well balanced, all around great looking than it already is and commands more respect than you are giving it.
If you feel that this poll means anything other than silly ratings in an online chat forum then you need to get out more.
And while I do not moderate this forum I am not barred from reminding you how you should conduct yourselves on here. Mind you I said remind and not reprimand which is how some of you mistakenly perceive it to be.
I'm glad they got rid of city vs. city and this thread is a testament to that choice.
I'm going to collect some posts in here and bump the old, much more member-friendly, non vs. thread we had. lock:

I think New York is more impressive, but Chicago's skyline is more aesthetically pleasing.

You really can't say one is more impressive or better and it's really just opinion like almost everything else. These cities perfected the skyscraper and made skyscrapers what we know they are today. How many skyscrapers would be around today if Chicago didn't create em or NY never caught on and made innovations? There'd be no SSC for sure. It's basically the competition of NY and Chicago that made skyscrapers what they are today and it's why they are all around the world.

That rule is stupid. Why can't there be city vs city discussions? Are we little babies who need to be protected from getting our little feelings hurt? Most of us are adults and should be able to have skyline versus skyline threads on a skyscraper forum.

So weird.

They both have extraordinary skylines. Those are my two favorite skylines in the whole world! But if i really had to choose between the two, New York wins.

I love how you said this comment and yet you are the one who has an argument.

Anyways, seeing how this thread isn't going to be lock, I chose Chicago because although NYC does have a better skyline in terms of numbers and variety, I chose Chicago because the towers aren't so meshed together. You can easily see individual towers in Chicago whereas NYC is a sea of towers. Maybe it's just a little too overwhelming for me.
