Erhan posted Tokatliyan Hotel already.

Unfortunately, it doesn't exist anymore. A fire broke out.

@omercank, np mate

Tokatlian THERAPIA was built 1900 by the architect Alexandre Vallaury, but i was damaged in a fire and was demolished in 1954 and Büyük Tarabya Oteli was built on the plot. Im almost sure my parents had their engagementparty there:

Tokalian PERA was demolished in the 1950's after a fire, there is a "is hani" on the plot today.

I also found a amazing flickrsite with alot of old wonderful luggagelabels from hotels: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wavesja...7594337734282/

After the Commission's meetings in the spring of 1870, I went with my wife and daughter to Constantinople. We stopped at Petala's Hotel, Therapia, where in 1856, I had lived for some months.
It was built before 1856 anyway http://members.fortunecity.com/78blencowest/ch10.htm

OMG! What a shame!

Many great buildings are replaced by piles of shit!

Prinkipo Palace, Büyükada/Istanbul should be immediately saved!

Recently published (finally)...Historic Hotels of the World - Then&Now:

At the moment, from Turkey there is only Pera Palace / Istanbul, but new members will (hopefully) arrive soon:

Many Thanks to all dear members of SSC forum who helped me with their info / candidates. During the following months, I'll try to focus on non-existing hotels and make some pages and for those hotels.

I don't know if it fits your definition but you may want to consider Divan Çukurhan, Ankara.

It is a historic caravanserai (a traditional hotel for caravans and travellers) built in 1522, and currently it is restored into a modern hotel.

New Novel with Tokatlian Hotel

Hi there,

I was doing some research on the Tokatlian Hotel and ran across this page. There are such amazing photographs here! I thought you would like to know about a new novel coming out that features the Tokatlian Hotel as a hub of activity, its called "A Perfect Armenian" and its site: www.aperfectarmenian.com. I've read the manuscript and its an incredible story.

I'll let the author know about this page and post to facebook. He has done a lot of research in this time period and area if you need another contact.

Turkey is the place which has a great history. There are many historic hotels and tourism places which are the main attraction for tourism. But as the time passed many hotels got placed and this is an very sad.
