Never heard about those rumours.
I didn't want to offend anyone, I just wanted to show how narrow minded some people are here in Sweden. Many people in Sweden seem to judge Hamburg after just passing by the city on Autobahn and see the heavy industries, the chimneys and the factories and think this is no place to stop. But I think this is very stupid because there are very few cities in the world that look beautiful from the highway. I think more people need to get off Autobahn and see the beautiful cities and the countryside. Personally I think Hamburg is among the coolest cities in Europe!

and several smaller aicrafts are also made in Hamburg.

...on pic 112 (Reeperbahn) is a flat building left center just behind the parc.
It is now torn down and the "Dancing - towers" are there under construction .

Hamburg is the second home of the Beatles

"I might have been born in Liverpool - but I grew up in Hamburg" - John Lennon

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles_in_Hamburg

Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany, the fifteenth largest German state, and the sixth largest city in the European Union.

The city is a major tourist destination for both domestic and overseas visitors; Hamburg ranked 16th in the world for livability in 2011, and, in 2010, the city ranked 10th in the world.

After New York and London, Hamburg is the world’s third most successful musical centre: for years such hit musicals as Disney’s “Lion King”, “The Phantom of the Opera”, “Cats”, “Rocky”, “Sister Act” and “Tarzan" such spectacular premieres as “Ich war noch niemals in New York” have been luring patrons for musicals to the city from far and wide. Other theatres have also caught musical fever, for instance Schmidts TIVOLI with the St. Pauli hit musical “Heiße Ecke”. Since 2003, moreover, Joop van den Ende Academy in Speicherstadt has been training a new generation of young talents to perform in musicals, ensuring a flow of fresh blood.

Ganz richtig!
Hamburg is a fantastic city!
Sweden ought to (and would if they only knew) ADORE Germany!
(Not only the other way around)
