DXB had 18,828,279 in just the first four months, and it hasn't even posted May results yet. Has Schipol fallen that far behind ?

It's a 4.1% growth compared to the 1st 5 months of 2011, it's not like Schiphol isn't growing. Judging from the numbers over the 1st 3 months on Wikipedia it has similar growth figures compared to other European airports. The same numbers also show very strong growth figures for many Asian airports including DXB. So I wouldn't say that Schiphol has fallen behind, it's more like Europe has fallen behind. Something that is not really surprising given the weak economic situation on the old continent.

any more terminal / interior pics at all?... sorry, don't mind airplane photos but really, those could be taken anywhere in the world. To me, what really defines an airport is it's terminal and its interior facilities much more than the planes that use it.

There was an incident with a KLM 777-200ER (PH-BQO), Flight KL881 to Hangzhou, China. The take-off was aborted because of a fire in the landing gear.

I took this picture from far away.

YAWN! All those airline pics!! ... Could be at any airport really! Why can't we have an plane spotting thread separately, so this one is really dedicated to airport facilities rather than freakin' plane pics?

This thread was started as a picture thread, but was re-branded with the most recent subforum restructuring. But the nature of the thread can't be changed that easily.

Not that there is much news about the airport itself other then that KLM and Schiphol continue to argue about the fees and the red carpet that Schiphol has layed out for competitors of KLM, like Emirates. KLM doesn't want to pay for new terminals that will be mostly used by other airlines.

Yes you can: you create a "AMS plane spotting" thread, move all existing plane pics into it and ask users not to post any airline pics in here! ... The moderator should easily be able to do this! I've seen it done before.

Thanks.

Well, I'm gonna annoy you with another plane pic

Monday heading southbound on A5, I almost got to shoot the best pic you can make regarding highway+aviation... We were there 2 secs too early.

I was hoping for this picture

Btw that's not Q400 skyworks. It's Dornier 328.
