Is it this plane?

Just a question for you: would you like to see this thread expanded to become...

NL | Airports of the Netherlands

wherein not only Amsterdam Schiphol can be discussed, but also:

- Eindhoven Airport (EIN)
- Groningen Airport Eelde (GRQ)
- Maastricht-Aachen Airport (MST)
- Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM)

If anyone would like to see that transformation, let me know.

No. The one that you mention is a much smaller airplane: Fokker 100. MD-11 is a huge airplane when compared to Fokker 100

Ah okay, I basically know nothing about planes but I saw this one random plane clearly not in operation anymore so thought it might have been that one
I should ask my mom, she worked for Fokker cabling planes for like 15 years, she knows her planes

Unfortunately, Garuda does not have rights to make revenue on LGW-AMS route.

Some photos of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport when I had a four hour layover there on my way back into the US from Istanbul. Aside from the lack of seating (which I guess is because of construction) I found the airport to be very nice (probably the nicest airport I have been in so far aside from Munich and Copenhagen). That being said I had trouble finding the Rijksmuseum annex.

Great shots! How crowded was the airport at the time? And how else did you spend your four hours at AMS aside from visiting a museum?

P.S. check your PM inbox...

Well there were a lot of flights coming in so it was sort of crowded but not too crowded. Honestly I just walked around for a bit, got a massage from the massage chair, bought a book, grabbed a coffee and just chilled out for a bit since I was sort of tired from getting up at 3am. That being said I never made it to the Rijksmuseum annex at the airport since I could not find it but I think it is sort ingenious for airport officials to have so many amenities at the airport including a casino, a library, sleep pods, and even city tours of Amsterdam that depart directly from the airport to accommodate passengers who have a long layover in Amsterdam.

Anyways I checked my PM box and replied to the admin.

Ah ok... I'm glad you had a good time during your layover in Amsterdam. Have you done plane spotting too while waiting at your gate?

Yeah they had a nice seating area by the McDonalds/Starbucks where you could see some very large KLM planes. That being said they make you go through a second security screening process for US bound flights so I could not really plane spot from the gate itself.

Actually, a good idea, but maybe add some extra info in the title like this:

NL | Airports of the Netherlands | AMS - EIN - GRQ - MST - RTM

there was a special contest by KLM and airbnb where you could win a night sleeping over at the md11 at schiphol-east near the hangars.
Last week, the md-11 was still on the ramp at schiphol east.

Meanwhile...I remember I just went there last September. Here are some photos.

The sunflower garden of AMS:

DL and CZ preparing to depart from AMS

And I hope this toddler and his family won't mind:

One of the best things about the airport is its connectivity to other Dutch cities and even to Belgium.
