What a great news. Indeed, 4 stars are not far.

http://www.airlinequality.com/Airlines/AT.htm

Improvable points: priority registration and showers in Casablanca (the airport authority has a lake of management), dining on demand long-haul business, IFE medium-haul business, medium-haul IFE economic.

It is 3* with Aeromexico, Air Arabia, Alitalia, Ethiopian, Saudia ...
Cap on 4* with Air France, Emirates, Etihad, Lufthansa, SAA!
It is still 3.5* with 744 not yet renovated.

New large IFE economic class on 737-800 (at least 21 inches)

Was pleasantly surprised by a painting in Kuwait Airport of a RAM Lockheed Constellation, such a pretty sight!

This made me wonder why the carrier has practically abandoned the ME, except for BEY, RUH and JED. I understand that with the likes of EY, EK, QR, SV, 3O/G9 and TK already serving CMN (some code sharing with RAM already), things aren't getting any easier but still given the huge amount of moroccan expats/families residing in the region I feel RAM has done the gulf short. DXB could justify a 2nd daily flight on RAM metal for sure, I mean there are practically more moroccans in the UAE then locals . Concerning the service standards and living up to the expectations of the Gulf travellers, RAM has done a great job improving its inflight product and online services (of course there's always room for improvement). Just thinking out loud here, but with the right aircraft and required rights they could perhaps add a tag-on, let's say CMN-DXB-DEL(or BOM).. With so many african carriers serving DXB, I'm just bazzled as to why RAM isn't. BEY and RUH are flown with B738's , so any farther would require aircraft with more range. With the B787's joining the fleet by year's end could we see RAM returning to the gulf? I know the CEO of RAM has announced that 2014 would be the 'Year of Africa' which is great given the huge potential and amount of underserved regions on the continent. The GCC shouldn't be left out in the expansion planning, as it to has very much to offer. Hopefully soon with the right aircraft

Hi patel2897!

RAM's 2 early built B787's L/N 17 & 19 have been rejected by the carrier as they didn't meet promised specs (eg too heavy, battery issues). RAM along with other early customers have agreed upon with Boeing that they will receive new builts instead. RAM's 1st B787 is scheduled for November/December 2014. There have been some speculations that RwandAir will take RAM's rejected B787's

Here's some background (from Yahoo Answers):

Quote:
After the first three 787 test aircraft Boeing started the low rate production, but this plan had backfired. The test flights showed the need to revise the original design. It takes a lot of coordination to cut in all the modification into the production, so by the time the first airframe that didn't need modifications rolled out in May 2012, Boeing was up to line number 66. All 787s between line number 7 and 65 have to be modified to meet the final production configuration.

At one point Boeing had well over 50 Boeing 787s sitting in every corner of Everett Field as they waited for their turn at Boeing's Everett Modification Center. Today that number is down to 9, the so called troubled teens, the ones that require the most modifications.

All four airframes built for RAM were among these very early builds: line numbers 12, 17, 19, and 22. At some point, RAM and Boeing agreed that RAM not take delivery of these early airframes, but will substitute them for later built aircraft.

Two of these planes, LN 12 and 22 were then assigned to Russia's Transaero Airlines, which hopes to take delivery of the first one in early 2014. LN 17 will also be delivered to another, unnamed customer. Boeing recently moved it into the Modification Center. The LN 19, still painted in RAM colors is parked at Everett. Since it is not assigned to a customer yet Boeing is not giving it high priority in the modification queue.

Sum-up from CEO video

Acquisition of :
- 737 MAX (for austral and East Africa)
- E2
- 100 middle haul planes
- Africa-Europe-Americas focus and then Asia in 10 years (others countries have a better situation for that)

Example E190 destinations : Gambie (Banjul), Guinée Bissau (Bissau), Centrafrique (Bangui) et Tchad (N'Djamena).

Quote:

Morocco which is not member of African Union still going to Conakry, Freetown and Monrovia. Where are others african companies ?! (African Union is based at ... Addis Ababa)

Planes are 10% full for going there. Authorities and OMS congrats RAM for that.

The high of goods is so high, that our only 737-300 cargo send 15 tons goods 2 days ago.

Since last updates 2 others news :

- Everyday Paris Charles de Gaulle / Casablanca flight (not only Orly).

- RAM - GOL codeshare

RAM will never Emirates, but if it happens to open lines long haul towards regional hubs (Sao Paulo AmSud, Singapore-Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta Southeast Asia, Mexico and Bogota area for the Hispanic America / Caribbean ... ) and offers codeshare with companies that are present, it will already be fine.

Same thing did with :
- Etihad à Abu Dhabi
- Westjet Montreal
- JetBlue JFK

Strong rumors for 747 8I

747-400 will be sold with is new cabine

Quote:

http://www.ampl.ma/publications/arti...se-que-l-avion

Why it's possible:
- RAM and Boieng entered into a financial agreement whose terms are confidential due to delay in delivery of 787 RAM could have an estimated $ 360 million over 50% off list price
- Boieng has all the trouble to sell its 747 8I. VIP and cargo versions have sold better. The pace of the production chain have experienced several delays.

Thanks for the GREAT recap Gadiri !!

Have been waiting for those cabin pics of CN-RGA's new cabin interior! Well done my friend ! Love the new cabin! Only missing in economy on the pic are the red headrest covers in Y-class for a complete picture.

About the future plans for RAM Cargo and the B767's ,, will these be new acquired ones or present ones? Cuz the ones they have now are on lease dunno if they will be allowed to convert them to all freighters..
