First time contributing to this thread, and it seems to me that Royal Air Maroc's improved cabin interiors make me want to try flying with the airline, especially that the seats look comfy and the PTV screens seem to have a lot of features, including AVOD and a lot of movies, not to mention (hopefully) games, e-books, and a good-looking airshow. I'm pretty impressed with the investments made by the airline to improve the flight experience, but I wonder though what kind of cabin interior will the 787 have, especially that it will be used soon...?

For the 787, we don't know.

For new cabins, there are 2 diffrences :

- 4 767-300 ER & 1 747-400 with IFE & new seats.

- For 25 737-800, Interior Sky, new seats but not IFE.

Royal Air Maroc | Embraer 190 | 2 units (+10/13 projected) | #Being Acquired

RAM change his strategy. They want to link more cities (Prague, Munich, Athens ...) more frequencies and better filling ratio because 737-800 are too big for such links. They want also to stop triangular links in some small africans cities and opened direct flight.

So they launch a tender for 12/15 100 seats plane. They have just rented 2 Embraer 190[ in order to test that kind of plane. Bombardier CSeries
Embraer 190 and Sukhoï Supert Jet 100 are the 3 planes selectionned.

Thread and poll in moroccan forum : http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...1594172&page=4

RAM strategy is :
- 4 ATR 42/72 for domectic planes and Canarias, Malaga ...
- 15 100 seats planes for Europe and Africa smallest cities
- 37 737-800 for Europe and Africa biggest cities
- 4 767-300ER for New York, Montreal, and also busy lines time to time ALgiers, Amsterdam, Paris, London (Sao Paulo december)
- 1 747-400 for Haj, Montreal, Paris-Marrakech friday, and King,

Before 2020 :15/25 medium range and 5 long haul planes (4 787 ordered + 1 option). So I think that there will be more 737-800.

1 of the 2 Embraer 190 in test.

Soon in Prague, Munich ... and small african cities.

Jet4you became JetAirfly

The tittle must change from :

AT/8A | Moroccan Airlines: Royal Air Maroc/Atlas Blue

to :

AT/3O | Moroccan Airlines: Royal Air Maroc/Air Arabia Maroc

1- Atlas blue was a low-cost of RAM. It still not exist.

2- Jet4you has been bought by JetAirFLy (TUI Group) :

Nope. These 2 frames are in storage now, but some work has been done few months ago. 2 former RAM's frames will be fully re-worked later and sold to other customer (probably RwandAir will take delivery. They still not firmed up order, so Boeing can't allocate them to new customer). Delivery should occur in 2015.

ATR delivers its first ATR 72-600s

Friday 19 August 2011

The aircraft will be operated by Royal Air Maroc

Turboprop aircraft manufacturer ATR has celebrated today in Toulouse the delivery of the first two ATR 72-600s in the presence of a Royal Air Maroc delegation. Royal Air Maroc will be the first operator of the new ATR “-600” series.

The 70-seater aircraft will allow the Moroccan national airline to reinforce its domestic and its nearest international network. In 2009 the airline ordered four ATR 72-600s and two ATR 42-600s, for a total of over US$ 125 million.

These ATR 72-600s of which the first aircraft was on exhibit at the 2011 Paris Air Show, are the first ones to be equipped with the new "Armonia" cabin, specially designed for ATR by the Italian company Giugiaro Design. It includes new seats that are both lighter and more comfortable, providing passengers with more room, as well as more spacious overhead compartments.

These are also the first ATR aircraft to be equipped with the new avionics suite developed by Thales. The avionics feature a new glass cockpit with 5 screens and new communication, navigation and monitoring systems. It is also equipped with a new flight management system (FMS), automatic pilot, alert management and a new computer including new aircraft maintenance functions, among other developments.

Mr. Driss Benhima, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc expressed his “satisfaction at becoming the first operator of this regional aircraft that represents a new benchmark in regional aviation. The six ATR ‘-600s’ that we are going to add to our fleet will enable us to develop new routes while offering high-quality service to our passengers.”

Filippo Bagnato, CEO of ATR, emphasized that, “this step is very important for the ATR -600 program. We are going to ramp up considerably as of next year, and we are going to do so by offering airlines cutting-edge aircraft and by providing them the best economic performance on the market.”

The ATR 72-600 obtained European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification in May 2011, a prerequisite for its entry into service. The ATR 42-600 will be certified by the end of the year and will enter into service in 2012. Since the launch of the ATR “-600” program in October 2007, ATR has already recorded orders for some 180 “-600” series aircraft.

About the ATR 72-600:
Passenger capacity: 68 to 74 seats
Engines: PW 127M
Maximum takeoff power: 2,750 horsepower per engine
Maximum takeoff weight: 23,000 kg
Maximum load: 7,500 kg
Maximum IFR range with all seats occupied: 899 nautical miles (1,665 km)

About Royal Air Maroc:

It also includes 2 ATR 42-300s and 4 ATR 72-200s for regional network service.

About ATR:
