El Monumental is really beautiful, one of the most beautiful stadiums in America, I love them, of course I'm a River Plate fan.

You want to know something weird about this stadium? One portion of the stadium's exterior is at an angle while the rest of the stadium is upright at a 90 degree angle. One of the things for my suggested renovation of this stadium is to try and correct the problem. Other things include a roof around the stadium and the rebuilding and increasing of the floorspace in the stadium, and adding an exterior facade. Oh, why do I often think of these very things every time I want to improve, renovate, or rebuild a stadium?

One can`t compare this stadium with some from USA or Western Europe becouse of the standard etc. This is by all means one grat stadium but it needs refurbishment. Maybe adding some more rows in the lower teer to make it closer to the pitch.

I like this stadium. It's a classic.
Don't you have any other pictures of Monumental de Nuńez? Maybe some older ones? BTW, in what consist your renovation plans?

I don't like it at all. Compared with the europeans, all south american stadiums look old, for example I don't understand why, they don't have a cover for the rain. (Doesn't it rain in Argentina?) Also its shape is not modern. If you have seen the new Alleanz Arena stadium in Munich or the new Wembley stadium in London, you could understand what I say.

football its not about fancy stadiums, mostly in south america football is about tradition, not trend... i'd rather watch the game on foot, singing and supporting my team than sitting on a chair quiet like if I was in a theatre... LONG LIVE TO THE TERRACES, RIP ENGLAND STADIUMS!

I think they should get rid of the track and expand the football pitch. That way it's even better because TBH, I think the playing pitch looks too narrow and could be wider and even a little longer.

Nope, for the world cup the ring was already complete. I don't have an exact date for those pics, but there's a banner that says "Argentina '78", so I guess it was taken after FIFA chose Argentina but before the construction started (late 60's-early70's).
