I think Buenos Aires and Argentinean football deserves a better stadium.

Some of the seats are concrete slabs!

yeah, Argentina sure is the country with the largest difference between football quality and venue quality.
Oh, and most the seats are made of wood :

Great, now I'm starting to think that all the seats need to be replaced because they are made out of wood. What is this, Fenway Park? The wooden seats are on the lower tier, and is the upper tier made of concrete slabs? I don't even like concrete slab seats. Those kind of seats often make the stadium exceed its designated capacity.

Well, going back to the stadium, there's been some paint works going on, mainly to cover up the filthy condition of the stands. No new seats, just paint.

I can`t beleve that River doesn`t have enough money to put normal seats on the lower tier instead of those made of wood!
Uper tier shoul remain as terraces if there are the suporters!

That new paint really helps alot, upper tier looks alot better.
I don't like the pattern much though.
Wonder how the text written in the banks in the lower tier will look like.

i still like it, its a vibrant stadium, the new paint makes it a little better, like the pattern, like the terraces I think the only thing it would need is a roof

This stadium is in EA Sports Rugby 08. The Pumas home ground. Probably will be used when the Argies join the Tri-Nations after 2012.

I dislike at all your comment man, all the stadiums in South America and even Mexico have an interesting singularity, because they are classics...not olds, icons in its countries, Maracana, Morumbi, Azteca, Jalisco, Monumental, Bombonera, Centenario, Nacional or Defensores del Chaco, the passion of football here in Latinamerica is huge, there's no ultra modern stadiums obviously cuz of economy is not the same man!!!

I'd like to watch matches for example: Brazil-Germany in Maracana, Argentina-England in Monumental, Chile-France in Nacional, Mexico-Italy in Azteca, a Uruguay-Spain in Centenario or Paraguay-Holland in Defensores del Chaco, you don't know but Europeans would have fear with all the crowd and the passion that...only....latinamericans WE HAVE!!

Do not compare my friend

Who cares about the seats, it's not the opera. It's a stadium, if you're any sort of fan who isn't a child, elderly or disabled, you're not going to be spending much time sitting.
That's what I like about Argentina, even in the "expensive" seats...everyone is on their feet singing. Not like in those fancy stadiums in Europe.

This is such an off the wall comment. How can you compare a long standing stadium built in the early fifties to Allianz Stadium that was just built a few years ago?

Plus, most if not all Stadiums in Latin America don't need roofs because there is privileged sunny weather most of the year.

Also, you have to remember that when South America was building these huge stadiums (like the 1930's Centernario in Uruguay and the Maracana), way back then they were unlike anything in the world.

Take it in contents.

It does need refurbishment, but it doesn't diminish its historic standing.

Old or ugly... doesn't matter. The experience of watching a match there is something that every soccer (futbol) fan must achieve if they ever have the opportunity.
