FRANKFURT/ESCHBORN | Deutsche Borse Stock Exchange CUBE | 92m | 22 fl | U/C

Unfortunately the Deutsche Börse Group decided to move to a suburb of Frankfurt, to save a few millions of taxes.
For that reason a highrise of 92m in height and for a workforce of 2000 was designed by the KSP Architects.
The Project is already under construction for quite a while now, reaching already the 3rd floor.

Location: http://maps.google.de/maps?f=q&hl=de...=16&iwloc=addr

Progress a few months ago with the skyline of Frankfurt in the background:
http://www.faz.net/m/%7B02DB68D8-AB2...%7DPicture.jpg

Basically it is a giant Cube which will be a nice addition to the already impressive Skyline of Eschborn ( http://www.ld-host.de/uploads/images...799013d56d.jpg , by Jürgen DHF), the small suburb in the close vincinity (15km) of Frankfurt with only 20000 inhabitants but with 27000 jobs.
It will be the highest building in Eschborn.

Floor Space: 53.000 m²

Worst case for Frankfurt... They need the tax and the skyline needs gap fillers!

I like it. A bit boxy and not very tall but it fits in very well. I think a real cluster is developing in eschborn at the moment, as a result of the outsourcing of whole divisions from big companies or by moving the headquater to save taxes. Maybe we will see a second skyline beside frankfurt but i would prefer to see a massive one and not a widespread or two with low density.

When it will be finished?

Nice to have another small skyline in the Frankfurt metro area. It will look very nice from the Autobahn.

The tower parts are growing rapidly in the air. On the right side of the main portal can be seen already the third floor.
The undergroundgarage seems to be ready. Yesterday they started with the sealing work with tar.
On the undergroundgarage there is an other parking garage. The starting of building the parking garage can be seen in picture 2.

With the construction of the tenth floor was in one part started. The two concrete cores with the elevator shafts rush ahead of the storeys.

The next picture shows that we have two almost separate skyscrapers, which finally received a common shell.

The Facade Pattern:

The design of the building looks ok, but its surroundings are awful. They should have decided to build the cube in the downtown.

It's an office suburb cluster of an office city. Of course it looks boring and unexciting.

Well, the thing is that this distinctive tower is going to stand in rarther rural area. I can see some shabby looking buildings around it, which doesn't help at all. The Stock Exchange IMHO should have the most prestigious address in town. I wish the developers thought the same.

Anyway, as I said before I like the building.

The developers went to the suburbs because of cheaper tax. They probably didn't care much about prestige. Its just office space anyway. The trade and prestigious office for the media will still be located in Frankfurt.

Who are they moving out to the suburbs though? I'd imagine the support teams would go there, while the people who actually make the money, like the traders and sales, would remain in the city to serve their clients?
