Only three latin american towers... what a mess!!! but nice
188. Torre Mayor, Mexico City
201. Parque Central Towers, Caracas
237. Pemex Tower, Mexico City

Of course that is TOO OLD!!! now a day there are too many tallest buildings in L.A. Parque Central Towers and Pemex Tower are not in the TOP 10 of L.A.

I remember when the Aon tower, in Los Angeles, (at the time it was built, it was called the United California bank, or the UCB tower) was built, at that time it was the 11th tallest building in the world, (around 1974)

Now it's ranks, 67th........how times change...

A ha!

I can't believe that I just discovered this thread!

I know this list is several years out of date, but NY is, without a doubt getting as many or more supertalls and 'top 300's' as any other city, with the possible exception of one, and I doubt that that one will be building forever.

New York City - 42
Hong Kong - 23
Chicago - 17
Shanghai - 15
Tokyo - 14
Dubai - 13
Houston - 13

I know that I'm sounding like the asshole, but I love how people claim that NY doesn't have the most skyscapers and is "falling behind," but when you only consider skyscrapers, you know, skyscrapers, the tallest (key word: "tallest") buildings built by Man, no other city will ever come close to NY. Listing only a few hundred of the tallest in the world and seeing which cities come out on the top is the only real way to show who's the king and who's the rookie because it prevents people from claiming that crap, 37-meter-tall batch cloned commie blocks are "skyscrapers." Build skyscrapers for over 100 years, then brag.
