I hope so. I'll try to post pictures.

It's amazing how much demand these Chinese domestic routes get, CAN-PEK or PVG/SHA-PEK routinely use equipment such as 744 or 333. I also assume that the CAN-PEK is A380's first dedicated domestic route?

I guess in this part of the world, using such large jets for short routes isn't such a big deal. I've flown 744's from HKG-TPE before, which is only 800 km (1.5 hours). Just a few days ago I did another run on a 744 for a 2100 km journey. The Japanese used 744's for their Tokyo - Osaka run from long ago already.

QANTAS A380

We returned to UK from Sydney in Jan 2010 with QANTAS . We booked
premium economy, well worth the extra, snug 32 seat cabin ,upstairs and
at the back. Sleeping not a problem, A380 is very quiet, in fact hardly noticed
the take off.

]

We are booked again, with QANTAS,for a return to Christchurch in Jan 2012.

Malaysia set to welcome Emirates’ A380
di-ve.com by di-ve.com - [email protected]
Business - Company Briefs -- 06 September 2011 -- 12:00CEST
Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, continues to expand its list of Airbus A380 destinations, with Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, set to welcome the superjumbo on December 1, 2011.

Emirates’ partnership with Malaysia began in October 1996 when the airline launched its services to Kuala Lumpur via Dhaka. By 2006, the airline connected Dubai and Kuala Lumpur non-stop and today operates 21 non-stop flights a week between these two important cities.

In what will be the first scheduled A380 service to Malaysia by any airline, Emirates’ flagship aircraft will operate as EK346 departing Dubai at 0405h and arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 1455h on the same day. The return leg, EK347, will depart Kuala Lumpur at 1930h arriving in Dubai at 2230h.

“The United Arab Emirates is a leading trading partner with Malaysia and over the last 15 years Emirates has played its part as the bridge between these two countries. Emirates has always been committed to Malaysia and the launch of the A380 on the route follows strong and increasing demand, not just from business travellers, but leisure travellers as well, boosting Malaysian tourism.” said Richard Jewsbury, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations Far East & Australasia.

Trade between Malaysia and the UAE has expanded more than three-fold over the last decade from US$1.16 billion in 2000 to US$4.59 billion last year.

Emirates’ A380 service arrives in Dubai at a convenient time giving passengers the options of onward connections to any of Emirates’ expanding list of over 100 European, Middle Eastern, African or American destinations. Emirates also offers a number stopover packages, giving passengers the opportunity to break their journey and relax in Dubai.

Emirates operates flights on a daily schedule from Malta to Dubai via Larnaka, Cyprus.

DEUTSCHE LUFTHANSA-REG : Lufthansa A380 carries name of Zurich around the world

13.09.11
Zurich Council President Gut-Winterberger performs the honours at Zurich hub

Lufthansa named an Airbus A380 after Zurich on Tuesday (13 September). The naming ceremony took place at Zurich Airport shortly after the mega-liner touched down after a special morning flight from Frankfurt. Zurich Airport is the home base and central hub of SWISS, which is based there as one of the Lufthansa Group Airlines. It accordingly plays a key role in the global route network of the Lufthansa Group. “Today's naming of the Lufthansa flagship in Zurich is a token of the esteem, in which one of the most important neighbours and partners of Germany and our Company is held. In Switzerland, Lufthansa has in harness with SWISS written a success story here at 'our' Zurich hub,” observed Lufthansa Chairman and CEO Dr. Christoph Franz at the naming ceremony.

As ceremonial host, Dr. Christoph Franz cordially welcomed Zurich Council President

Dr. Ursula Gut-Winterberger, who performed the naming ceremony at the Airport. She then poured sparkling wine over the giant plane before unveiling the name of Zurich sprayed on the fuselage, Afterwards, the naming certificate was signed and the guests of honour were invited on board the double-decker aircraft to tour the sleek and impressively designed cabin. On Tuesday afternoon, it was back to business as the A380 took off on a scheduled flight from Frankfurt to Peking, carrying the name of Zurich around the world in the Lufthansa global network.

The German airline is already operating eight Airbus A380s on long-haul services from Frankfurt to Asia (Tokyo, Peking), Africa (Johannesburg) and North America (New York, San Francisco, Miami). Two more of that type are scheduled to join the fleet next year. The newly named A380 “Zurich”, registration D-AIMF (known internally as “Mike Fox“ after the last two letters), was the sixth of the type to be delivered for the Lufthansa fleet on 4 April 2011. It has since logged around 2,200 flying hours on about 240 flights. The “Zurich” is based along with the entire Lufthansa A380 fleet at Frankfurt Airport, from where it flies scheduled services to all the aforementioned destinations. Passengers from Switzerland fly to Frankfurt to board A380 connecting flights to all the flagship's destinations. In the coming winter timetable, the A380 will also be flying daily to Singapore. The Lufthansa flagship seats 526 passengers in the best and most modern service classes in the Lufthansa fleet. First Class, with eight generously proportioned seats on the upper deck, is entirely new and individualistic. The world's biggest Business Class with 98 seats on the upper deck and Economy Class with 420 seats on the main deck offer unprecedented comfort in a remarkably spacious cabin interior.

Updates and background information about the world's biggest passenger aircraft are available on the lufthansa.com/A380 website.
