this graph is bullshit. according to it the 747 is only 59m (whereas its actually 70m) and the a380 is 64m (actually 73m).
the antonow appears way larger than it actually is

well if that antonov can fly, i don't see anything that could prevent the A380 from flying...

i know it was postet at airliners.net. dont get me wrong im not bashing you, im just trying to show, that the guy who created the diagramm cheated with the size of the antonov.
also my numbers arent wingspans, take a look at the original diagramm

i think the side view and front view comparison are still accurate beside the inaccuracy in the top view.

When's this thing gonna fly??? I want to know when so I don't miss it, I don't want to wake up one day and see it already happened!!! Doesn't Airbus want people to know when it's gonna take off so people can come out and watch?

^ Will Airbus let us know beforehand though... or are they just going to drive it out on the runway one morning and take off without anyone knowing?

A380 FIRST TEST FLIGHT APRIL 20TH!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know how reliable this source is, but:

First Take-off Of Airbus A380 Due in 8 Days
By Ulf Stabe Apr 12, 2005, 05:55 GMT

8 days are left until one of the most spectacular first flights of avionic history is scheduled. The Airbus A380, the only commercial airplane with an end-to-end double deck, will take off on the 20th of April for the first time.

Only the weather or problems in previous ground test can cause a delay. If all conditions are met, former Mirage jet pilot and chief-test pilot Jacques Rosay (49) can give full throttle on the runway of the Airbus production plant in Toulouse, France, to take off at a speed of 300 km/h.

The highest risk during the flight are expected to be vibrations of the wings, which will be filled with 310000 litres of kerosene, as well as vibrations of the tail section.

The most thrilling moment will be the landing after 4 or 5 hours of flight, when the 6 Titan alighting gears (6 m high, 22 Michelin tires) will absorb the full landing weight at a speed of 265 km/h.

I sure hope so, that'd be nice if Airbus set up a live video feed off it's website for it. I'm in Chicago so they'll probably take off before I'm up on Wednesday, hopefully the cable news channels'll show some of it live.
