That's what I thought too... Pakistan International operates B747s, not A380s. If PIA would order them, then this would be the place to discuss it.

Love Pakistan has been posting irrelevant posts of Pakistan Airlines and Pakistani airports in many other threads as well...

Well PIA certainly have the population to fill a 380, I think money is they're problem. Would look good in they're livery.

He should just start his own thread then.

I think if PIA has enough money to buy a new aircraft, then they can get the A380 since they usually operate B747s for trips to the UK (and before, the US and Canada too).

PIA could be a candidate for the first A380's on the second hand market, whenever that will be. Maybe just a couple of frames for their busiest routes, plus hadj duties. IIRC some of their 747's were purchased second hand.

Sure, but how would PK configure it: C and Y classes, or all Y?

I don't think the money is an issue. If they can afford the 77L, I am sure they can push for a A380.

I just don't know though if most, of not all, of PK's hubs have been tested and certified to be A380-ready. Airports such as Karachi and Islamabad should have gates specifically designed for the A380 for PK to operate them on a regular basis.

^I am not too sure about it.

If they were to order an A380, they would run into many issues. It would probably be small fleet and very too expensive to run it. Pakistan may not be known for prosperity and what not, but they love to spend some decent cash on their military budget and PIA fleet.

Money is exactly the issue with PIA. You tend to forget the reason PIA have the brand spanking new 77L, and 77Ws is because the United States government a long with Boeing have helped them get loan guarantees because of they're participation on the War on Terror/Afganistan. It's a little more political than you think.

The only way PIA will get an A380 would be with Airbus basically giving them one for free using the European Tax dollars to pay for it. So best for PIA not wanting one till PIA has the money to buy one!

Sure, but also consider the long term ROI made by using the aircraft as well: I mean, having one or two of them in the fleet could mean they will have jumbo aircraft again after they have slowly stored away or retired their B747s... and usually, their European flights tend to be popular for budget travelers. I am wary though of this because operating a large aircraft as the A380 could potentially drain the government's coffers (considering that PIA is actually owned by the government)...

Indeed, MSN095 (BA first) is in an outfit hangar in Hamburg.
MSN095 will be the first improved frame with new wings and an increased MTOW.
