Early 2014, they will only take delivery of the A380 with the new wings and the 1st of those will be delivered then although not necessarily to Qatar.

Off course it's April Fools, you think that Airbus would manage to build a new version if the A380, and have airlines buy it without anyone finding out.

Hahaha yeah, but that's a really cool concept should it materialize. And speaking of that, I wonder if there will be a modified version of the A380, in which Emirates would like to use it for longer flights other than just SYD, JFK, and NRT, like, say, LAX or SFO or even GRU.
