Qatar's livery will look great on the A380. Does anyone know when will it be rolled out?.

I could also guess Doha-New York (JFK), if not Doha-Bangkok or Paris (CDG). There are quite a bit of route opportunities for Qatar Airways' A380, if not for the immense competition from rival Emirates in terms of number of routes operated with the superjumbo.

Here's a great-looking A380 view that I want to tale a pic of when I head to Los Angeles alone...

Korean Air (reg. HL7611) landing, with a fantastic view of Downtown.

I was wondering, what happens if the kite logo on MAS A380 fin were painted in standard red and blue color?

Well, it would probably look like this:

I've been wondering why MH haven't applied red and blue with the revised scheme.

Your proposal certainly works but I'll love to see those colors applied to the swoosh & engine cowlings too

After Boeing came with the news that it still has open production slots in the next couple of years it's now Airbus that has the same problem with the A380 for 2015.

Quote:
Airbus A380 Lacks Airline Customers for Delivery Slots in 2015

Airbus SAS said it must step up efforts to market its flagship A380 as it still lacks buyers for some of the 30 double-decker planes it wants to build and deliver in 2015, the year the program is supposed to break even.

While Airbus still believes in the business rationale behind the superjumbo plane, the company needs to work harder to win more customers, Harald Wilhelm, the chief financial officer of Airbus and parent company European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co., told journalists today.

“There are still some slots to be booked from 2015 so this is a top priority for John and his team,”

The rumors are that EK will make a top-up order for 30 A380s later this year, but those will most likely have delivery dates later this decade. Several airlines that currently operate the A380 are also pushing back deliveries, like Qantas and Air France. So coming with this news now shows that the current market for VLAs is pretty though. I guess that they want to lure in airlines that are currently deliberating a VLA order, they still have some early delivery slots left.

Not surprised about the need for orders. The A380 is way too big for some airlines to operate.

I believe LHR will be one of the first routes.

Qatar will probbly due some short haul training flights. Probbly DOH-DXB or something like that. Then we will probbly see it connecting Doha with one world alliance hubs (LHR, JFK, KUL ) and then other major hubs (CDG, NRT, SIN).

Well, there are still quite a few airlines out there that could be first time buyers of A380s. For example:

Etihad
Saudia
China Eastern
Air China
Turkish Airlines

What happened with Virgin Atlanatic getting A380's?

Both them and Etihad had their names on the side of the Promo A380

I'd like Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific to look at getting some as well
