Perhaps that's a bad reason indeed... I mean, protectionism can be a good thing up to a certain extent. But, to protect Indian carriers from international carriers by not allowing A380s to India? That's like my country afraid from implementing fifth-freedom rights (codesharing and unlimited flights between capital cities) because "Philippine carriers should have first priority in creating and maintaining routes from Manila, and that foreign carriers should limit their presence in the country, preferring them to bring their own metal to the country rather than codesharing". I mean, it doesn't make sense to see India not have any A380 flights due to protectionism...

BA dresscode

How would you like to tread on Georgia May Jagger΄s dress tail, that extends out of her suite and into the first class aisle?

Where will Airbus park Qatar's planes once they are done working on them and aren't delivering? If it happens.

In Hamburg, where they can fit the interior. When that is done they will be delivered soon afterwards.

If Qatar won't take them straight away then there's plenty of parking space in either Hamburg or Toulouse.

Indeed, they just stay on the flightline until a customer is ready to accept the airplane.

So the new airport will open then? They wont take delivery until the new airport is ready. That would be cool if the first commercial flight is an A380 flown by Qatar.

It's unclear when the new airport will actually open, after the literally last minute postponement of the opening in April no new date has been announced. But Q4 2013 does seem the most likely schedule right now. When Qatar in July 2012 delayed the delivery until 2014 because of the A380 wing issues there was no indication that the opening of the new airport would also be delayed.

I also don't believe that they will postpone the delivery of the A380 in the case the new airport won't be ready. Do they have enough credit with Airbus that they can delay it even further without a valid A380 related reason? They can stretch it for some time, but not more then a couple of months. Unless they strike a deal so that Airbus can just send them an invoice for the parking fees.

I would like to ask some question relating to A380. It's not about the airplane, but about the airport.

What is the specification of the airports that can accommodate A380? How the airport gate and immigration desk must be designed to accommodate the A380?

Well the problem with Doha's current airport is that it cant accommodate the A380 at all. The terminal and parking area at that airport is really tight from looking at pictures. Airports overall have to have a runway system that can handle the landing and takeoff of an A380 with out messing up the concrete. The gates have to have three air bridges and immigration has to be able to handle 450-500 or more passengers getting off at once and passengers being able to connect or continue to leaving the airport with out having a major backup at immigration. Overall the airport and the community has to have the demand to be able to make a profit off an A380 flight.

The reason why I'm asking this is because the Kualanamu airport in North Sumatera, Indonesia, is often claimed as the first airport in Indonesia that could truly accomodate A380.

Despite the fact that the airport have a rather small gate, and each gate is equipped with just one air bridge.

Do you think the gates of this airport can handle A380?

More about the airport.
