I love this shot because here, you can actually see the A380s in comparison to the 747s. Never saw a shot quite like this before where you could compare the two so well. You can really see the difference here and how much larger the A380 actually is.

well it was amazing! more people than for Lufthansa's A380 back in 2012. This time the weather was better and timing was good (friday afternoon). I believe if any airline sends A380 during saturday early afternoon we might see more people than on Oxford street in London!

Actually, which one is quieter? Airbus A380 or Airbus A340-500/600?

I'd say the A380. I love the tune of those RR powerplants.

Well, actually the Airbus A340-500/600 are solely powered by RR engines. While A380 are powered by either RR or GP Alliance engines

This is the example of GP powered A380

I know they are both RR, however the Trent 900 has a nicer tune vs Trent 500

Later generations RR Trent tend to be much quieter than those introduced in 1990s.

Here are examples:

The Airbus A380 (Singapore Airlines)

The Airbus A340-600 (Lufthansa)

I've heard the A380 take off and it was a bit disappointing to me. You get the whoosh, but you don't get the roar and the rumble. To be as big as it is, it is pretty quiet.
