That looks interesting on the second Etihad A380.. I hope it will be a very nice and spectacular livery..

Will this be a 1 time special livery or will this be a standard new livery..????

There seems to be a bit of confusion about the leasing company Amedeo who ordered 20 A380s earlier this year.

In the news coverage on the deal it was stated that Amedeo was the new name of Doric Lease Corp. What wasn't clear is that Doric Lease Corp was a spin off company from Doric GmbH, founded by one of the formers of Doric GmbH. The name change of Doric Lease Corp into Amedeo seem to have been made to avoid confusion. Doric GmbH which is still operating under this name is also in the same business and also A380's in it's portfolio which they acquired through sale and leaseback constructions with Emirates and Singapore Airlines and also other aircraft from several airlines.

But now the issues, the relationship between the 2 companies seem to have turned sour as Doric GmbH released the following statement.

Quote:
Doric Refutes Amedeo Claims

Doric is receiving an increasing number of inquiries regarding Amedeo, who is wrongfully using the Doric franchise and Doric track record for its own benefit.

Doric is a fund manager with 60 employees and more than USD 8 billion of assets under management. These include 36 aircraft on lease to internationally renowned airlines.

Amedeo is a startup venture holding a speculative aircraft order for 20 Airbus A380s. It was founded in June 2013 by three former Doric employees, who had been asked to leave Doric. Among other Doric employees and partners, two of these individuals were involved in structuring and negotiating a number of Doric transactions. No Amedeo personnel has at any point in time been responsible for the asset management of the Doric portfolio.

On its website Amedeo falsely claims experience from an oversight role for the Doric Nimrod Air One (DNA1) and Two (DNA2) transactions and presents itself as asset manager for the Doric Nimrod Air Three (DNA3) transaction. We wish to point out that there is no such role as oversight manager for DNA1 or DNA2. The DNA3 asset management services were subcontracted to Doric at the inception of the transaction for its entire term due to a lack of experienced personnel within Amedeo. Amedeo simply acts as a pass-through.

Doric is committed to providing services for its investors to the highest level of professionalism. We regret any confusion caused by any former employees of our organisation.

They make it perfectly clear that Amedeo is not Doric and that Doric is still operating as an aircraft leasing company. The legal part of this statement is that Doric accuses Amedeo of using Doric's legacy to market the A380 they ordered from Airbus to airlines. With Amedeo even going as far to list several A380s in their portfolio that are also in Doric GmbH portfolio.

Amadeo website:
http://www.amedeo.aero/

It's going to be interesting to see how this is going to continue. I smell some nasty court cases in the near future, which in a worst case scenario for Airbus could affect the A380 order. Will there still be trust from the airlines, or even from the banks that finance these deals?

Amedeo has yet to announce a lease deal for their A380s...

To be continued.

Court cases are part of life, Boeing and Airbus have their own legal department and are dealing with court cases on regular basis. It usually doesn't influence business.

Not for Boeing or Airbus, but for a start up leasing company it could be a different matter if it really gets messy court case. If their financing dries up dries up they don't have anything else to fall back onto, it's not likely that they have enough money on their own bank account to buy even 1 A380.

Sure, though that's pure hypothetical at this point.

Amedeo will use a similar construction like Doric in which case shareholders will mostly pay for the airframe. But point taken
