The Skymark pair in Toulouse (see below) and the single transaero part build would be a good start. I'd say Saudi, somehow, will buy more 2 class than 3 class A380s....if they do buy any. They have that Hajj peak every year.

Skymark frames will need a lot of internal reworks though...IIRC they only had 400 seats and internal wiring for same.

I don't know if it's a sign from god, but those two ex Skymark frames already have the Saudi colour on them as is. All that's needed is the logo, and Signage.

Thats good news if it does come true. Airbus needs this order badly. Plus maybe Turkish Airlines will order some A380s along with Saudi.

Zaz thats the problem, 2014 they have zero orders, they feel the pressure as often. Some Airliners are now starting to have A350s in their bucket list ... But certainly Airbus (in positive vibe) they will bounced back for good...

You gave me the impression that Airbus had apparently decided to cease production of the A380.

None of these links says so -they're only talking about it.

Etihad Airways will start Airbus A380 services to Mumbai in May 2016:

Etihad to fly Airbus A380 on Abu Dhabi-Mumbai route

Press Trust of India | New Delhi
November 3, 2015 Last Updated at 17:22 IST

Quote:
Gulf carrier Etihad Airways today said it will operate superjumbo Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi- Mumbai route, starting May next year.

This would be Etihad Airways' first A380 operation into India, the UAE national carrier said in a release.

The new route will connect with the airline's A380 New York service, it said.

Etihad holds 24 per cent stake in Naresh Goyal-promoted Jet Airways.

The introduction of the superjumbo to India's commercial capital increases the number of Etihad Airways' A380 global destinations to five, which include Sydney and recently announced Melbourne, which will be rolled out in June 2016, the release said.

The carrier's A380 features the only three-room suite in commercial aviation -- The Residence by Etihad - as well as nine first apartments, 70 business studios and 415 economy smart seats, the release said.

The A380 will operate daily on flight EY204 from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai, and EY203 from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, both of which will carry the 9W code of Jet Airways, Etihad's strategic partner, according to the release.

Passengers onboard Etihad Airways' A380 service will also be able to connect to popular international destinations served by the airline through Abu Dhabi such as Chicago, San Francisco or Toronto in North America, and Bahrain, Doha or Jeddah in the Gulf region, it said.

EK received it's 68th A380 registration number A6-EOP. It is also EK's first two class A380.

The last firm order was placed in February 2014, no orders have been placed since then.

But that doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be any orders this year. There could be some at the upcoming Dubai Airshow, Etihad and/or Qatar could be firming up options. And there were some rumors about a Saudia order.

The predictions about a large A380neo order by Emirates have been downplayed recently in the French and German press as Airbus want's to wait with the decision to go ahead with a neo.

Watch ‘Jetmen’ fly alongside Emirates A380 above Dubai.

Two men wearing jet packs push boundaries beyond the unthinkable.

... Saudia looks pushing up their plans for A380 acquisition... Some of my colleagues are routing for B747 variants ...

Thats why I'm optimistic that the company will choose A380, despite the rumors spreading that these will only serve for Hajji purposes (yearly purposes) just fill up huge pilgrims to point of origin to Saudi Arabia...

Another thing is, airline companies are starting to look for A350 variants rather than a380 ...

Yeah, also worth noting its sold faster than the 747 did in the first few years of its life. 317 in 9 years, the 747 sold 315 in eleven years including gaps of three years with no domestic sales and 17 months with no foreign sales.
