Here's a bit of interesting news for A380 fans:

http://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Deal...-Airbus-a-deal

It appears that ANA will take both Skymark A380's and one of the A380's that was originally earmarked for Transaero and assign them to the Tokyo-Haneda or Tokyo-Narita to Honolulu route. However, don't be surprised if they assign it to the Tokyo to Los Angeles route, given the large expatriate Japanese community living in the Los Angeles area.

The Skymark 380s have only 400 odd seats, less than any other A380 except maybe the Korean ones. The Transaero one (I assume the one that had already gone into production when Transaero collapsed in October) will have a more normal 500 seats or Bit of a mixed bag for ANA.

My guess is that Airbus probably threw in the cost of converting all three A380's into ANA interior configuration as part of the deal to take those three A380's off Airbus' hands. My guess is that the ANA configured A380's will probably have around 520 seats.

That will cost an arm and a leg in the case of the Skymark pair surely.

The interior would have to be changed anyway.

That's not news. That's a five month old rumor that hasn't materialized. Here is the same newspaper still playing the same rumor, but still nothing from Airbus or ANA: http://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Comp...Hawaii-service

Honolulu can't even accommodate an A380 service. Sure its runways and taxiways can accommodate the A380, their boarding gates doesn't seem to be able to. Their expansion only covers single level boarding gates, which I think will take a long time to board and disembark the 500+ passengers, or more in high density configuration.

Well I think we can say it looks official that ANA are purchasing A380's.
