DEFINITELY Photoshopped.

Anyways, an A380 will be arriving at Oshkosh, WI (OSH) later this afternoon (about 1430-1500 CDT) for public display over the next few days. See: http://www.airventure.org for more details.

It arrived at Milwaukee, WI Mitchell (MKE) yesterday afternoon and overnighted there.

I am no expert on photoshopping, but you can clearly see a black border around the letters. It looks to be a hastily done job.

Actually, the entire boat looks to be imposed on the image.

It's not a photoshopped pic : the black borders are just camera artifacts. Here another pic of the same ship :

The ship is real. It's used to ship parts of the A380 from the different factories around Europe to France for final assembly.

Speaking of final assembly, I'm surprised this video apparently hasn't shown up here yet: building an A380 in 7 minutes! BTW, the 'Ville de Bordeaux' (the ship in the pictures) shows up in this video as well.

JPEG compression artefact actually.

As for OSH, it came in for a rather hard landing (very light and high crosswind)... might want to mute the video as the commentators were rather retarded.

Now I'm just pondering if I should go on the SIN-MEL inaugural... and go A380 all the way... HKG-SIN-MEL.

In case anyone is interested, the A380 at Oshkosh, WI is Airbus Industrie's test bed F-WWDD. It went on public display on Wednesday with rather fascinating tours of its interior (yep, I toured it ), full of test equipment (including such things as oodles of water barrels used to simulate the weight of passengers both sitting and moving about the aircraft) and will be there for the next couple of days.

Thai Airways Will Delay Delivery Of Six Airbus A380s - Report
31 July 2009

Bangkok (Dow Jones)--Thai Airways International PCL (THAI.TH) and Airbus (EADSY) have reached agreement to delay the delivery of six A380 superjumbos by about two years, the Bangkok Post reported Saturday.

The national carrier will now take delivery of its first A380 in the third quarter of 2012, instead of late 2010, the newspaper reported. Other deliveries will take place in October and December 2012, and January, September and October 2013, it said.

Thai Airways had earlier considered cancelling the order or changing it to smaller aircraft due to concerns over the cost of the A380s and that it would be difficult to fill them sufficiently to turn a profit.

I always wonder whether this is some sort of photo-shopped picture or real?

The versatile Airbus A380 cabins offer more space to passengers along with wider seats and aisles. A cabin designed around needs of passengers today and tomorrow provides the latest comfort standards – with wider seats and aisles, plus more space regardless of class of ticket. Optional lower deck use for rest areas, business, bar or other amenities can further enhance the A380 travel experience.

On the A380, the upper deck is 70 inches (180cm) wider than competitor aircraft's, while the main deck is up to 20 inches (50cm) wider. The outward sloping cabin walls of the main deck add to the overall sense of spaciousness.

SIA's biz class seats are horrid. Just looking at them makes me feel uncomfortable. I'd rather sit on a wooden bench that has arm rests.
