I am all for efficiency and optimisation.
A380 can be optmised to A389 with an extended length. I hope this will happen.

But, Kjeese in anothr thread has proposed an Ecoliner. Two engined, twin deck, single aisle in upper deck. I think this is even better optimised than A389, though it will have a lower capacity.

Taking off soon are Lufthansa's new Airbus A380 planes, which have been lavishly decorated—in the first-class cabin, at least. Gone are the tiddly toilets and basins, and in their place are separate washing and changing rooms.

It all reeks of first-class cash, and interestingly Lufthansa chose to keep the open plan design for the seating area instead of opting for separate cabins, due to customer feedback. Now, I've not flown in first class before, but the idea of separate cabins does appeal.

Instead, there's "sound-absorbing curtains" and "sound-absorbing carpeting" which blocks the hub-bub and noise of the economy-class from leaking into the first-class.

So is that a waiting area in the bathroom?

First plane, an Airbus A380, rolls down LAX Crossfield Taxiway

By Art Marroquin Staff Writer
Posted: 05/24/2010 06:33:26 PM PDT

A behemoth Airbus A380 operated by Qantas Airways was the first jetliner on Monday to roll along the new $88 million Crossfield Taxiway at Los Angeles International Airport, officials said.

The plane, weighing more than 1 million pounds, was greeted by water cannons shot from a pair of Los Angeles Fire Department trucks.

The completion of the 3,437-foot-long taxiway was built on schedule and within budget, connecting LAX's north and south airfields, airport officials said.

Why the hell does Wikipedia in Spanish say that Aerolíneas (Argentinas) will have 2 A380 by 2012? It would actually be awesome for the EZE-MAD route, but is this true?

Wikipedia-Articles are written by normal users like you and me. You shouldn't rely on it too much. AR has no A380s on order.

Is it sourced? If it isn't than the information may not be entirely accurate.

Keep the A380 pics comin!

When Aerolineas Argentinas and Air Comet were under Grupo Marsans, yes, they ordered 4 A380s, 2 for each carrier. But seeing as Grupo Marsans no longer controls AR, the order's been canceled.

Shouldn't the Airbus website have some list showing orders of their planes? Probably better to rely on that than Wiki.
