Ganymedova fontána (1888)

SK: Kamenná fontána s bronzovými plastikami zvierat a ľudí je stvárnením príbehu chlapca Ganymeda, ktorého najvyšší grécky boh Zeus unáša v podobe orla na Olymp. Autor do diela zakomponoval aj zubáča, kapra, sumca a šťuku – typické dunajské ryby. Už menej typické pre Bratislavu sú korytnačky či raky, ktoré spolu so žabami zdobia strednú časť fontány.

Rolandova fontána (1572)

Fontána sv. Juraja (17-th century)

SK:Fontána sv. Juraja krášli nádvorie Primaciálneho paláca. Pôvodne sa nachádzala v záhrade Letného arcibiskupského paláca (v súčasnosti v ňom sídli Úrad vlády SR), presťahovaná bola až začiatkom 20. storočia. Súsošie z polovice 17. storočia znázorňuje rytiera Juraja, ako zabíja trojhlavého draka. Sv. Juraj je patrónom rytierov a jeho zobrazenie v podobe rytiera, kopijou zabíjajúceho draka, vychádza z legendy o jeho hrdinstve. V Lýbii v jazere pri meste Silene žil drak, ktorému obyvatelia museli obetovať svoje deti. Ako to v legendách býva, keď bolo treba drakovi poslať panovníkovu dcéru, objavil sa hrdina, ktorý draka zabil.

In the Middle Ages the dragon was commonly used to represent the Devil. The slaying of the dragon by St George was first credited to him in the twelfth century, long after his death. It is therefore likely that the many stories connected with St George's name are fictitious.

There are many versions of story of St George slaying the dragon, but most agree on the following:

A town was terrorised by a dragon A young princess was offered to the dragon and when George heard about this he rode into the village, slayed the dragon and rescued the princess.

Futuros,nadherny thread,fontany v BA velmi nepoznam,diky moc.Skoda ze tych fontan nie je o cosi viac.Mne osobne sa paci Taliansko,kde skoro kazdy futbalovy fanclub ma svoju fontanu okolo ktorej robia oslavy pred a po zapasoch.

Its before Technopol in Petrzalka relatively new fountain, but i dont know more about it.

Just to let you know, it is maybe the biggest square in Bratislava (some 200 x 200 m), the same size like the Rynek Glowny in Krakow, but this square is popular mostly among young people at the night

but I like this square too.

It is in Petrzalka just in the front of Technopol, as already said.
In summer months, for few weeks, it plays music in some evenings.
Music is accompanied by colorful lights.

My poniektorí sme ju už videli na jesennom SSC stretku, a možem ti povedať, že Zuzka je úplne v pohode. A to Zuzka odišla, keď sme sa s pivami ešte len rozbiehali.
