I noticed during the London Marathon, in the Docklands there was a construction site the runners went past that was called 'Island Point'. Any information on it?

Great new update, Will. Not sure what your cut-off point is, but with Westminster Park Plaza (14 floors / 44m) listed, maybe next time you could also include one of my personal obsessions, Chambers Wharf (14 floors / 46m)...

Great news but I hope this doesn't go the same way as the Photographers Gallery's proposed new building which was scrapped due to the crunch.
Geffrye museum unveils star shortlist 23 April, 2009 By Will Hurst David Chipperfield is competing against Long & Kentish and Irish firm O’Donnell & Tuomey to be appointed for initial design work for a major redevelopment of east London’s renowned Geffrye Museum. Following interviews with an initial shortlist of six firms – also comprising Wilkinson Eyre, Dixon Jones and Stanton Williams – the Shoreditch museum, currently housed in eighteenth-century almshouses and a 1998 extension by Branson Coates, revealed the eventual goal is a £12 million, 2,500 sq m extension which will secure its international reputation. The Geffrye Museum explores English domestic interiors from 1600 to the present day and boasts collections of furniture, textiles and decorative arts. Director David Dewing told BD one of the three practices will be chosen to work up a “limited amount” of design work prior to a funding application to the Heritage Lottery Fund in September. If this initial bid is successful, the museum then plans to announce an RIBA-organised open competition for the bulk of the work, he added. “This will be a completely new building which stands alone next to the Branson Coates building,” Dewing said. “There are three main reasons for it: our strategic ambition to become a major international centre to study the home, to improve conservation of and access to our archives and [to deal with] an anticipated increase in visitors due to the extension of the East London line. “We want something that doesn’t dominate the existing buildings in an uncomfortable way and that enables it to retain its special atmosphere. We are less interested in what the building looks like and more interested in how it works. We want a highly functional building, not some monument.” The panel charged with making the initial appointment includes Mary Stirling and Marina Vaizey.
