Considering the number of tourists (local and International) that do the Daulatabad - Ajanta - Ellora triangle from Aurangabad, it was high time an airport like this served tourists.
I believe we will also see Military movements as Aurangabad has a cantonment. Back to the discussion - in my most-est humble opinion, there could have been more provision for natural light. But a good, modern design nevertheless. Has to be seen for real to pass on any more judgements ![]() Cheers p2p4 |

The terminal looks good, but I am afraid AAI is mass producing those pillars and seem to appear in all the new ones. So once inside all these new terminals built by AAI are going to look the same. I hope I am wrong.

Posting pictures of Aurangabad Airport's New Terminal Building. Illuminated Interior of Airport Building. The Pillars supporting the roof has been given a local touch. The base of the pillars is designed to replicate local Architecture of Ajanta & Ellora. (Seen here in the photo.) (Note: This photo was taken when the terminal was still under construction.)

At least the roof on this one is different from the classic AAI roof they're using on all new airprts

Well, now the pillars have been redesigned but I'm more conerned about the supporting beams which look like the same as the ones coming up in other terminals as well as in 1D in delhi. The internal skeleton is also starting to look similar for all new airports as well. Surely they must be more creative.

They're probably sticking to the same design so that they can buy in bulk and use the equipment all across India...it gets bland in a way, but at least it's an improvement over existing airports...
they should atleast add bits of local flavor to these airports. |

It's really mostly people like us that will even notice that all the airports are the same. Most passengers will likely not be looking at the structure or even visiting every airport to make the assessment.

Yup true that! I'm def not complaining...these new airports are much much better than the ugly neon-signed boxes we used to have!

Posting pictures of Aurangabad Airport's New Terminal Building Complex.
New Technical Block-cum-Control Tower at Aurangabad Airport. (Under construction at the time of taking this photo, now operational.) New Air Traffic Control Tower cum Technical Building at Aurangabad Airport is about 30 mts high. The total floor area of the tower is 620 sq mt. This block will house operational and technical equipment and air traffic management staff.

Well, at least it doesn't have the classic checkerboard paint job.
