Yes, and the apartments are very grand, indeed. Most of the floors are divided into 2 units each. Someone I knew (have't been in touch for a couple of years) owned one of the units right below the attic storey (the floor with arched windows).

North of Belmont, on Sheridan Road, is another favorite Beaux Arts building of mine in Chicago.

Gorgeous photos! It's a real treat looking at them.

Both NYC and Chicago are wonderful ... GLORIOUS ... cities!

Nice comparisons, tpe, of my two favorite skylines. And thanks to gia for the dramatic set of pictures included in the second post of this thread. Wow.

Thanks friends.

This weekend was the big Arts and Antiques weekend in Chicago, which is part of the Arts Calendar that encompasses events in NYC and many other cities around the world every Spring (e.g., in Maastricht, London, Paris, Hong Kong, LA, etc.)

I got to meet many of my favorite NYC dealers here, which is always a special treat.

For me, the Arts and Gallery scene in NYC is one of its chief glories. I should probably devote a series on just this aspect of the City.

Post-Modernism. It is currently so out of fashion. But who knows how the next generation will think?
