I keep seeing people saying "chicago is the second city, new york is the first" or something of the sort. I wish I needn't inform you, but Chicago is the second city not because New York is first. But because the "first city" was the Chicago before the Chicago fire. The "second city" is the renewed Chicago that was built after the fire.

A couple of friends and I went out to eat and when we were finished eating my car, of course, had a busted window, radio stolen,, my bags (from previously shopping) stolen.. They should of took the whole dam car. I lived in chicago my whole life and nothing like this has ever happened to me... Also this video & article http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_904493.html is about this truth test on various cities. Seeing the video to me shows how people in New York would much rather steal a juice than pay 1$ for some juice. I'm not saying that Chicago is safe because its not. But New York doesn't fall to far behind in my eyes..
Well in your original post you didn't say it was because of something personal, but I'm sorry to hear your car was vandalized like that, that does suck. But the statistics are very clear, Chicago has worse crime than New York which is the opposite of what you said in your post.

And I fail to see what honesty has to do with anything, or how that absurd test defines what they see as honesty. The mere fact that NY is the safest big city in America, and ranked last in that how many people pay for tea when there's no one manning the tea vendor stand test, should clearly show that there's no connection between crime what that test defines honesty as.

If we can get back to appreciating these two cities, I think those photos you posted at the bottom of the last page show that in my opinion Chicago has the better skyline right now. That location is incredible.

I didn't post anyone of what I said was because I felt I didnt need to put all of my business out. But I had to at the end. And your statistics where right although you did get your research from Wiki if I'm not mistaking, so I didn't want to go by those results so I tried researching it myself and I did find the results & by seeing that I could admit that Chicago is not safer than New York but I only said it as far as personal experience in NYC.

As for the Tea Vendoring Honesty Test. Of course some NewYorkers if no ones looking while they want something they'll take it. There shouldn't be someone watching you every second to make sure you pay. Especially if it states $1.

But yea I would love to drop this little thing here and move on to the Appreciation. Thank You for the compliment on the 2 photos.

If I were the supreme ruler of earth, HDR photography would be quite illegal.

Good thing you're not close to having any power whatsoever.

Great pic of the Woolworth! My favorite building on Earth, unrivaled by any other building in my opinion, and this does a great job showing why!

It used to be more stunning before the city made them rip out the ornate turrets and replace them with the bland 1970s mock-medieval crap that mars that gorgeous pinnacle, due to age and maintenance difficulty. It's ridiculous how far the "modernizing" mentality in the 1960s and 1970s went.

A late construction picture:
