You follow where your career takes you.

Luckily, I still have strong ties to Chicago.

ilcr7, I just thought it was an odd thing to say about NY, that it has too many tall buildings. Seems to me it's kind of like saying the beach has too much sand...

I don't want to continue talking about all of this on this thread, you can send me a message if you want. Like I said in another thread, no city is perfect. But these are both two world class cities that stand on their own. Both of their GDP's are in the top 3 in the world, and they both are world renown. Also, Chicago has things that New York doesn't have, New York has things Chicago doesn't have, and they both have the best skyline in the world. Anyways lets go back to appreciating both cities.

Please don't interpret my comment(s) in the wrong way.

Nice little dig you threw in there...but compared to Tonronto, NYC is also a crime infested sh!thole with shootings at beaches and parades.

Don't take my comment the wrong way either, just making an observation!

I heard that Chicago did hit its all time low for crimes last year. But honestly, whenever I have been in Chicago, I have never felt like it had much crime. The loop area is safe just about any time, not to mention the fact, that there are always tons of people walking around. its south Chicago, and some neighborhood areas that has the worst crime apparently.

Also, all the above pictures are beautiful

In 30s New York reached a great equilibrium of heights and shapes, spires and spaces between them...then came the quantity above the quality and new york was filled with big glass boxes...but I think no other skyline can compete with 1930 new york...nowadays my opinion is that NY and Chicago are equally beautiful, but both beaten by 1930s NY skyline!

...ain't it fabulous?

Yeah! There was something so awesome about NYC in the 1930's, it just felt so ahead of it's time. I prefer it to modern day new york, but probably not 1990's New York. Modern NYC honestly feels like it's too overwhelming.
