Damian, the point is, how do you define what is "beautiful". Just tell us something like "for me it's not so beautiful" or "I don't quite like it"... it's all quite personal. I just don't take the aesthetic aspect of a place alone, though I think that it is great for Warsaw, especially the Centre... to say nothing of the night lights and the skyline... I take a city holistically. I take the scale, the dynamics, the feeling, the buzz, the urban character... For me Warsaw has it all, and Raklez's pictures do show it perfectly (for me again). I admit I have a strong relationship with that city for my own reasons. But, that means, don't speak so authoritatively, and speak for yourself.

Warsaw is not beautiful in the way that Prague or Budapest are, but it still is a great city with many wonderful places and improving all the time. I really loved my visit there and look forward to going back again. I thought Lazienki Park was the most marvellous and beautiful city park I have seen anywhere in the world and I've been to dozens of cities in all continents.

Yes, I agree, Warsaw has probably the best urban parks I have ever seen and Krasinski Park is being restored next year, so there will be more gems. In terms of architecture, it's a mixture of everything lacking the cohesion that makes Prague so beautiful, but this also makes Warsaw so much more unique and interesting seeing all the layers of history along one street sometimes.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes Warsaw may not be beautiful in the traditional sense but it has "something". Just like New York may not be beautiful as say London, but New York still has that "something" that attracts people. That being said Warsaw does have some really beautiful places (the parks of course) but it's not as abundant as in Paris for example. I think Warsaw of the future will be a cool mix of old and new. Investments are pouring in and there will something for everybody. I hear the art scene is picking up across the river in the Praga district.
