If you look at the pic from 6/1 up above (morning shot) you can make out the 40th floor as being the top floor under the form work.

When you consider that on 6/1 it had just jumped, it works out to about 2 floors in the last 11-12 days for the core to rise!

I have the pics from today from my phone to illustrate this, and then Ill look into downloading paint shop, or install Photoshop to resize.
Those would be nice to see. The forms rise every 5 days.

6/9/15 - this morning, jumpy jumpy!!

6/9/15 - this evening

6/9/15 - this evening about 10 seconds later

Gloomy, humid weather today. It literally felt like stepping into a giant arm pit when I left work and got outside. Actually reminded me of when I was in Miami back in the mid 90's.

Sorry for the size.. I am looking into getting a fast app to resize for the future, but for now we have these. At least these are more clear, as some of my pics above that look gritty.

I just did some research. Level 34 was 662' 6'' (Street level is +286). Floors are for the hotel rooms and are spaced at 11' 6'' and continue that way up to level 66. Then taller floors will follow.

Thank you! I will give it a try. I really hate to mess with Photoshop just to re-size photos, although it sure would be nice to do a whole folder of them at a time.

Apparently so. You've piqued my interest on how far away you can see it on 7th. Interesting comment!

It seems that the Wilshire Grand Tower has ultimately stopped construction now. What's going on?

What on earth are you talking about? They couldn't be building this building any faster!

Stopped construction? The core has been growing steadily each week. In fact it just jumped again today - this morning the same side that always jumps first, had done so, then by the time I'm heading home, the other side closest to the 110 freeway had jumped. Steel is growing but much slower for now, but they are already beginning to outfit some of the lower floors! Also, consider the fact that this structure is seriously stout! Core walls at the bottom are 4 feet thick, and its seriously reinforced for seismic resistance. This is a building that can without question, withstand a magnitude 8 + quake, similar to the US Bank tower. When you consider all of the anti-seismic features, then it really becomes apparent how amazingly quick its moving along!

I think the core will be topped out by the end of the year at the latest, or it will be damn close to it. However its important to note that the core walls will not be 4' thick at the top - the higher up you go the more they taper, so that can also speed up the process as it gets higher up. As far as the steel goes, I think they will go full speed on that and it will really catch up quickly (2-3 floors a week perhaps) once the core is closer to topping out.

Its really becoming quite obvious on the skyline isn't it? Once it shoots up past the 45-55 floors buildings surrounding it, its going to catch a lot of attention. I just hope that the final product will be looking like the render with no changes. There was a pic of it all lit up as well, from the bottom to the top and it looked quite spectacular, and like it was something I would see on the HK skyline pics! Finally, LA is getting something that will look vastly different than any other building here, and its no shorty!
