Core just jumped again today. Same thing this week as well, with the side facing the core of DTLA rising first, and by the evening when I passed by after work the other side facing the 110 jumped. I took pics of this today, but held back since there are already great updated ones above. For the past 4-5 weeks, its been jumping up every Thursday.

As you can see in the pics above from WG website, 46 is now the highest exposed level outside the framework. That would put this at 49 floors since the last 3 are in da box. Pretty damn close to 50!

The steel really started to shoot up crazy fast earlier this week. I saw beams sticking up about 5 stories above the highest completed steel frame, and this week its built up around those beams that were lonely the week before!

The upper floors should have tall ceilings, especially the top 3 in the sail-shaped crown. I cant wait to visit this masterpiece, when its open and lit up in its full glory!

I also wish that the owners of US Bank tower would hurry up and get their obs deck and restaurant completed at the top as well. If they follow through it will definitely be noticeably higher than the WG top levels.

I was able to see it from the top of the Watts Twin Towers where I work at a firm about 25-26 floors up. When its done and is lit up crazy bright like an Asian skyscraper, this building will be visible for miles.

Sometimes on a clear day when I leave San Dimas, I can barely make out the skyline of DTLA on the horizon, including the lights when at night. Im sure the LED lights and spire will easily be viewable from this same spot when I am traveling on the 57S to get to the 10W. DTLA is over 30 miles away from this spot!

Very true! I love the shot from the air showing the 30th floor encased in steel! Then you look down at the ground below from that height and realize its a lot higher up than it seems when you are standing at the bottom of the tower.

The numbers you see are not the actual floor count. They skipped numbers earlier because it was bad luck or some Asian superstition. I think the actual number is like 10 floors less so 46 is something like 36. I tried doing a physical county but my eyes got crossed and kept losing track.

The core is several floors above the top 41st floor and clears the roof of the the 534' Ernst Young building next door.

I had a slight suspicion of the same thing, but someone on here (forgot who) had confirmed it was a true 70 floors to the roof, and it shows in the render. Maybe they "make up for it" on the floors above perhaps? That is one thing I am still not sure about.

This jump brings the core to about 600'

Yes sir you are correct!!

Its starting to get pretty big, and you can see it from just about any angle now when looking at the skyline.

Just like some consider floor # 13 bad luck # 44 is bad luck to some other cultures. In the most extreme situation such as in several hotels In vegas. They have skiped the 40s and 50s going from 39 to 60

This is very common in hotels in China, Taiwan and Korea and in Chinese communities worldwide. Even one 4 is bad enough. Comes from the similarity in sound of "4" and "death" in the some Asian languages.

But the inconsistency of allowing 4's in room numbers makes me wonder if they really are just trying to give people the impression they are on a higher floor.

I think the word for 4 is the same word for death. Bad luck. This was already addressed here. (Pest, we posted at the same time)
