Just to repeat what I said on the LA forum, if this tower was about 150' taller at the core, raising the height to 1250', this would probably be my favorite building in america! I think it's beautiful, just a hair below what I think is its ideal height sadly. But hey, I can want whatever height I want, it's not my money on the line if this building is a financial success or not

The Building helipad is 723' AGL. If you start walking from 3rd on Grand Ave and past the Wells Fargo Building lobby entrance. Make a right and walk to the food court building. The ground elevation averages 380'MSL the entire time. Lower Grand is below this area. The helipad is at 1,102' AGL

thanks for sharing! For anyone who doesn't know, "tower_guy" in the wilshire grand thread on the LA board said today was the day of the final concrete pour. It's exciting to think that the steelwork will be done on the march 8th and the glass will be done by march 24th! Though after all this time it will be weird not having that solid blue block at the top of the wilshire grand towering over the LA skyline

Tallest Tower in the West Will Have a Glass Slide Stuck to the Side of the 69th Floor
What's an observation deck without a "thrill factor"?

Wild! As my officemate chimed in, "Better not name it after Angels' Flight!"

The slide itself is a little gimmicky, but it feels like the US Bank Tower's landlords are really trying to position their new observation deck and restaurant as the go-to skyscraping destination ahead of the Wilshire Grand. Planting their flag, so to speak. I wonder how this will affect the kind of rooftop amenities that the WG ultimately offers.

It'll be like the relationship between John Hancock and Willis Tower in Chicago. The former has the better views, IMO, but I wonder who will have the better views out of US Bank and WG?

I agree it seems like US bank Tower is trying to get the attention rather than having Wilshire Grand known as the "LA TOWER" sort of like the Empire State Building in New York. IMO its apparent that the U.S Bank Tower want's to keep it's title as the iconic tower from L.A, and I think it will, I also think that the U.S Bank Tower will have better views than the Wilshire Grand Tower.

Well it's a better looking building in my opinion and even though Wilshire Grand will have a needle on top, US Bank Tower has a higher roof, and that's where its impact will be more visible when viewed as part of the skyline.

on the plus side the Wilshire Grand is looking amazing. It wedges into the Skyline perfectly. I can't wait to be in L.A. next week!
