So, the current hotel is still scheduled to close December 31st? Isn't it odd that there hasn't been more press coverage for this project only two months away from that benchmark? It's sort of a big deal for the city, since it's going to alter the way downtown looks drastically in a few years. Sorry to bump with no info, but that's sort of why I did it. Anyone hear anything new since July, or is no news good news?

I suppose that once the hotel actually starts coming down, the project will get more media attention.

I like the design and it will stand out big time because all of the other skyscrapers around it are completely dated.

The Ritz is brand new! But the whole LA Live area is taking a big financial hit this winter due to the NBA lockout. Staples is usually the district's primary revenue grabber during this time of year. Double-hurt compared to other cities since it's the only venue in the league with two teams.

Regardless, with these towers and the proposed stadium(s?...) 2013 will begin an unusually active period in Downtown construction. Guess I'm just anxious to see it all begin.

LA is going to explode this decade. With the Wilshire project, grand ave, river revitalization, and Farmers field, experts predict they will launch a surrounding building explosion, weather they be high rises or apartments.

Amazing, great looking towers!

It would be great if LA got a new tallest tower.

They're not taking any room bookings for 2012 and maintain they are on schedule to begin taking down the current hotel soon after the new year. We should have work beginning on this project in just over a month now.

Speaking of Trump, why has he never thought of building a few skyscrapers in L.A.? (or the west coast for that matter).

So the hotel will start within the next few months? What about the (LA's new tallest) office tower?

He did proposed to build a tower in LA where new LA high school is at right now. It happened back in the 90s or early 2000s I think. Can anyone please confirm that?

beautiful, but the problem of LA is not a lack of skyscrapers.

I hope to see it soon!

A skyscraper based on this development wil make an appareance in the next GTA

Yeah, i also realized. But this development in GTA 5 appears to be much higher than the Wilshire Grand Tower.

Appears to have 1000 foot under construction, and 1700 foot when complete.
