This will give LA it's title back for home of tallest building on the west coast when the building in San Francisco is built.

Wilshire grand towers will be the next king of towers n will dominate the L.A down town skyline as well as other tower projects will follow. As we all say here "I love L.A"!:-)

The trend to fully skin buildings will light-colored glass walls is overused; the all-light colored glass makes buildings get lost in the skies and lose presence. (Compare California Plaza 2, and the 777 Tower). All in all, the buildings are acceptable, tall, and modern. The skyline won't be ruined but finally renewed. Hopefully more detailed renders show a more intricate facade.

Btw, to the forumers asking about other projects; this is not the place to ask about other projects, browse the development section in the L.A. forum.

LA has always had the title of tallest building on the west coast. And considering that San Francisco's Transbay Towers aren't going up anytime soon, I don't think LA has anything to worry about.

As if there was a competition for the tallest buildings on the west coast.

this is probably going to be the sexiest building in America after it is finished. Love the lighting. Time for the USA to get with lighting their buildings at night (ala Hong Kong!)

Only the smaller tower of Wilshire grand is starting construction, the larger one will once it finds a tenant. The San Francisco Transbary Tower could be done before that and therefore SF would have the tallest building in the West, for a little while.

A 750 foot tall tower will cover a large area. I will be sure to get a few pictures of the construction site this weekend.

How is it tacky? Its the way things are now. Skylines need to be able to define them selves 24/7, so standing out at night is becoming a more and more important thing these days.

I happen to think LA has a very classy night time skyline. With all the madness at LA Live, I think that it looks rather nice.

LA has it's own. Every single night. Especially when there is something going on at Staples Center which is all the time.

And if you've never driven around DTLA at night, here you go.

THe Wilshire Grand Towers will be a landmark. I for one can't wait.
