Spires count if you didn't already know

Great work!! i was actually working on something similar off of that photo (great minds think alike ) but yours is way way better. and to think, it doesn't even include the "car wash" tower and 66 story building planned on either side of hotel figueroa! and there's still hope that Angel's Knoll will be sold to some entity that wants to make a real "statement" supertall in L.A. Again great work thanks for sharing

About the Angel's Knoll Tower, here's a curbed article titled "LA moves forward to develop Angel’s Knoll with a building of ‘unlimited height’". I don't know if that means the building an be built without height restrictions but we'll have to see.

Anyways, sorry for the off topic post. Back to Wilshire Grand, I can't wait to see interior shots of the building and the rooftop pools! I cannot decide whether I like the spire or not, from some angles it looks amazing and other it just looks weird.

Great minds!

And good point on those omissions, I've added them in to the mock-up. It really is going to become an extremely dense cluster. And although the change in DTLA will be obvious and impressive when viewed from Kenneth Hahn, the East/West views will be the most dramatically altered.

I also hope someone takes advantage of the unique opportunity presented by Angels Knoll to propose a new tallest -- ideally with a roof height well above 1100 ft.

Slight problem with that. If it wants to appear taller, it'll have to be at the very least 1400 feet in raw height. Why? Because the original tower for that site(Cal Plaza 3) was meant to be over 915 feet tall with 65 floors yet due to the elevation difference which is at about 150 feet it appeared shorter than it's little brother Cal Plaza 2. Unfortunately the tower was never built but you get the idea. If it wants to tower over everything else it'll have to go the extra mile to appear taller due to the drastic elevation difference.

Yeah. Although useful and I'm glad it's here now, I can't help but feel this tower is a big let down. That spire just... pokes me in the eye every time I look at it!

The building will still be mixed-use, right? Do we know any of the commercial tenants who will occupy floors 3-29?
