Voice your opinion? Certainly.

Without ridicule? Are... you new to the Internet or something? Place is worse than the Mos Eisley Space Port.

@PF, isn't the Wilshire Grand site on a hill/at a slightly higher elevation than USBank? The roofs will look even closer than what's in diagrams, no?

US Bank site is roughly 40 - 50 feet higher in elevation

Ah, so the opposite. Don't know where I got the impression USBank was on lower terrain.

That little diagram is almost comical in how outdated the US Bank Tower looks. Did anything good come out of the 80's?

Hoping for, and looking forward to more modern skyscrapers in LA.

Downtown's was lifted in the 60's, so no limit. But, the city has limits on other parts, as mentioned Century City is one of them and I believe the Valley does too, as of course Westchester (LAX), Hollywood's restriction was just lifted, so sky's the limit in Tinseltown now.

I did some calculations and concluded that....

Crown = 69 ft

Spire = 97 ft

Tower (floors + crown)= 1,003 ft

Tower + Spire = 1,100 ft

Will downtown L.A become a hub for more hotels like this? I really hope the reinvent the area as a place people want to live in. That would lead to more high rise apartments blocks and hotels

The future is bright for downtown L.A!

It went up in the 1950's, so there's a ton of asbestos in there. Straight demolition would have been a health hazard.

Hopefully. If you consider the Ritz Carlton and Marriott which are the same mix of hotel/residence, so this isn't new to Downtown.

Btw, people already want to live in Downtown, the surge started happening approximately 8 years ago. Many old corporate buildings were converted into lofts, and many residential buildings went up, like Evo, Hanover, Concerto/Apex and many more that I can't think of right now.

Four days since I last went by the site, and they've taken down two more floors on the Figueroa side.

Good to see the demolition progress, by the time I am in LA it will be long gone.
