Concrete work won't start until November with the LA times source, but LASF said he spoke with a worker that they should start going up by a month and a half.

This is definitely going to get built, what are we waiting for to get this moved? Steel?

Ok mods... this REALLY looks like it is under construction now. Perhaps it's status can be changed to reflect this yes? I have seen many threads of China and Dubai based structures that are less than this that are classified as U/C...

LOVE the pics so far! This structure is really going to be fun watching go up. Does anyone know if it going to be a steel or concrete structure as of yet?

EDIT: Silly me. I did not notice that this was classified as PREP --- sorry about that. However if they are piling columns is that not considered U/C?

Wilshire Grand Redevelopment Project

Services Provided: Structural Engineering

This will be the tallest building in the Western United States upon it's completion in 2017.

Brandow & Johnston is proud to be the Structural Engineer of Record (SEOR) for this iconic building that will propel the Downtown Los Angeles skyline into the 21st Century. We are pleased to be working alongside AC Martin in bringing this project to life. We are excited to see it move forward and we are watching the progress carefully out of our 18th floor office windows at 700 S. Flower. We will have to part with our current view of the Hollywood Sign as this addition to the Downtown Los Angeles skyline goes up over the next few years, but you won't hear a complaint from us!

Please visit the links below for all the detailed information available on this project as well as some beautiful renderings of the building's exterior features and interior spaces.

Looks interesting, though the model still looks too short considering the height. Guess we'll see. These models are notorious for never being to scale.

That spire looks a lot more than 100 feet.

Hopefully it's not in real life.

It's the first real spire going up in Los Angeles. They might as well go all out

its been confirmed that the spire is exactly 100 feet, I think Chris Martin said it in the USC Price school video.

if that's the case the models proportions are off compared to the AON tower it is only maybe 900 to the roof.

For heights I always prefer numbers over renders, because of the perspective.
