You are 10 or what?

They build as high as they want to and you can cry about that. But please, not in here.

Are you living in the cave? There are some supertalls in US outside of NY.

the crown is over 1,00 feet, so stop bitching, I love this tower, and the height, I cant complain about a 1,000 foot tower (to the Crown), with a 100 foot spire, totaling 1,100 feet.

You remind me of the NY posters who complain that the new Nordstroms tower wasnt taller, damn its nearly 1,500 feet tall what else do they want it will become the tallest tower in the city, I would love for a tower of that height to be added to the LA skyline (possibly in the near future it will ).

I think Trump should not be allowed to build anything anywhere ever again.

Actually Donald Trump proposed to build a tower in downtown LA area a while ago. It didn't work it out because of the City of LA wanted to build a new high school on same site.

Ok well you keep telling yourself that the spire is only 100 feet tall when it is well more.

Really? for being frustrated at the fact that LA hasn't broken the height of the USB tower for the past 23 years? They said they wanted to make it the tallest, but now we have a 900 foot building with a skinny pole on top.

I think the tower is fine, but like usual we were led to believe it would be way better... so no I am not an "ungrateful *****" for being frustrated

Frustrated? Really? Why do you get so emotional about something as trivial as building heights?

Hate to break it to you, whether you like it or not, the building will be 1,100 feet.

One thing I love about LA's skyline is the lack of spires on the buildings. I feel that this tower really doesn't fit in well. It looks like something you'd see in a spire city like Atlanta or New York.

Right, just like 1WTC is "1776" feet

If this building were 300 meters to the roof I'd be ok with it, I don't mind the spire, but a ~200 foot spire is too much.

I don't care all that much about height anymore to be honest. You and Kanto should have some deep discussions if you haven't already.

That's fine, it's ok if you don't care about height but this is a skyscraper forum so don't be surprised when people do.

I like the Wilshire Grand renders and I hope it stays loyal to them when its constructed, but LA needs more than just one tower going up ... its skyline has been kinda static for more than a decade now.

The 54 and 44 story towers of the Wells Fargo Center are on 46 (for each tower) Drilled Caissons, with post tensioned rebar cages 8' in diameter with a 14' bell at the bottom in contact with bedrock, I personally worked on the 44 story tower at the beginning of it's construction, all of it's caissons where between 190' to 220' feet deep, as i understand it most of the downtown area has bedrock at about 200'

There are buildings outside of the downtown area built on driven piles tied together by sectioned slab systems, a recent building of note, the former MGM tower in Century city, and every tower in the Marina Del Rey stand on piles.

The Whilshire Grand sub levels at the deepest points are around 80' to 90' feet, (don't quote me on this) and all the towers that surround the site are on Mat's

Why are you assuming that? It's 100 feet tall, why can't you get that through your thick skull

Well, its not up to you to decide, when it comes to the official height of buildings your irrelevant.
